Staying in the jungle could have endangered her life, but now that she had returned, she just needed to fully trust the medical staff here.
Hearing such a calm tone, Jocelyn Carrington’s mouth twitched slightly, and she glanced at him.
After finishing, Austin Shepherd’s expression was gentle, as he looked at Jocelyn Carrington.
Waiting for her reaction.
Feeling his gaze, Jocelyn Carrington felt quite uncomfortable inside, and her smile became stiff, "Is there anything else?"
Narrowing his eyes slightly, Austin Shepherd’s voice softened a bit as he inquired, "Were you brought back?"
"Ah," Jocelyn Carrington’s expression was quite awkward, and she nodded somewhat disappointedly, "Yes."
She was brought back this morning.
Being brought back meant that she had voluntarily given up on this survival challenge in the wild and had withdrawn from the tough selection process.
Thinking of this, Jocelyn Carrington’s frown deepened.
A fierce glint flashed in her eyes.
Her left hand, hanging by her side, unconsciously clenched into a tight fist.
Austin Shepherd’s eyebrows lifted slightly, his gaze becoming deeper as he observed Jocelyn Carrington before him.
Her right arm was fractured and had been treated; now it hung around her neck.
Her military uniform was torn and tattered, the fabric covered in dirt; only her face was clean, but the several cuts on her skin were particularly noticeable.
Her distress flare had been set off at around ten in the morning.
She was brought back at around eleven.
The location was about eight kilometers from the destination.
She was found below a small hill.
According to her, she had fallen from the hill, breaking her hand and suffering scrapes all over her body, so she simply gave up.
Austin Shepherd had his doubts.

However, he had been quite busy today, so he hadn’t asked about it. Yet now that they had run into each other, he naturally needed to take the time to inquire.
"What happened?" Looking into her eyes, Austin Shepherd asked gently.
"I wasn’t paying attention on the way, slid down the hill, didn’t expect it to be quite bad, broke my hand..."
At this point, Jocelyn Carrington stopped, cautiously stealing a glance at Austin Shepherd.
She couldn’t help but feel nervous.
Although Austin Shepherd was usually approachable, as an instructor, he certainly had an intimidating presence.
Especially since she felt quite guilty.
"Is that all?" Austin Shepherd seemed a little surprised.
Is that all?
When Austin Shepherd asked the question, his tone was very calm, casual yet with a hint of skepticism, which made Jocelyn Carrington even more nervous.
"That’s it."
After thinking it over, Jocelyn Carrington nodded vigorously, her tone firm and strong.
With a flicker in his eyes, Austin Shepherd arched his brows, his gaze sweeping over her, and he said indifferently, "Your leg isn’t broken."
Her eyes widening slightly, Jocelyn Carrington was somewhat puzzled.
With a light chuckle, Austin Shepherd added, "You can walk."
Jocelyn Carrington was taken aback.
"Your scores aren’t bad, the place you fell is very close to here, give yourself three hours, and you could even crawl back." Speaking steadily and calmly, he paused, then Austin Shepherd looked up and continued, "So, if you chose to give up, is there any other reason?"
Frozen in place, Jocelyn Carrington momentarily lost her words.
She hadn’t expected Austin Shepherd to guess so accurately.
Logically, if she chose to give up, Austin Shepherd shouldn’t even spare her a glance. Yet, to her surprise, he actually came to ask her the reason.
Completely unprepared mentally, and without thinking of how to deal with such questioning.
