Clearly, Belinda Nichols had no intention of laying all her cards on the table regarding her family background.
After Belinda finished her Steamed Buns, the two of them went to the Training Ground as if they had agreed upon it beforehand, without saying a word to each other.
It wasn’t until eleven o’clock at night that the two of them returned from the Training Ground.
By that time, everyone including Mariana Buck, Jessie Grain, Cassie Ferguson, as well as Devina Millet and Chloe Bell, who had gone out to have fun, were back in the Dormitory.
"Flossie, are you very close with that Rowdy Brightwill?"
As soon as she walked in, Chloe Bell came over with a slightly flushed face and asked Flossie Wright.
She seemed to be drunk.
"Not really."
Flossie Wright stepped aside to avoid being overwhelmed by the alcohol on her breath.
Her eyes suddenly brightened, and Chloe Bell kept pressing Flossie Wright for an answer.
Sensing something strange, Flossie Wright raised her eyebrows and took a step back.
With her arms crossed, she looked at the drunken Chloe Bell and cast a glance towards the cold Belinda Nichols, then said indifferently, "False."
"Whatever." Chloe Bell pulled down the corner of her mouth in disdain and then shook her head, "So do you have anything going on with him?"
"This time you went out," instead of answering her question, Flossie Wright asked, "what did he do?"
"Nothing much," Chloe Bell shrugged, "just hung out together, but—"
At that point, Chloe Bell gave Flossie Wright a mischievous wink and whispered, "He’s easy to get along with, knows how to do everything, and is handsome too. He became the most sought-after guy in minutes."
Chloe Bell hadn’t drunk that much, but she had a low alcohol tolerance. Although she wasn’t blackout drunk, her brain was a bit foggy, and her basic logic was disassembled.
Of course, there was a lot that Rowdy Brightwill naturally did when he went out with them.
Deliberately suppressing Vincent Field’s arrogance, Rowdy Brightwill fully demonstrated his social skills and popularity, dealing with everyone appropriately, and was always the most impressive one when playing games.
In addition to that, he knew a lot of things, was the most skilled at having fun before joining the Forces, and was also very humorous when speaking.
If before the outing hardly anyone knew Rowdy Brightwill, after the return, from a grand group of more than thirty people, Rowdy Brightwill naturally became the man everyone wanted to be around.
Seeing a potential opportunity, Chloe Bell inevitably had some ideas stirring in her mind.
Hearing that Flossie Wright and Rowdy Brightwill had a good relationship but not being able to confirm whether they were romantically involved, she thought it best to ask Flossie Wright before getting her hopes up.
Flossie Wright replied nonchalantly.
She clearly wasn’t very interested.
She knew about Rowdy Brightwill’s popularity within the Frogman Forces.
Most of the female soldiers admired Rowdy Brightwill enormously, while the others admired Austin Shepherd.
However, as much as they admired them, very few actually dared to pursue him.
After all, the gaps in military rank and background were too wide, and even Nancy Phillips didn’t blatantly pursue Rowdy Brightwill.
"Hey, you haven’t answered my question yet."
Seeing Flossie Wright intending to leave, Chloe Bell frowned and stopped Flossie in her tracks.
"My relationship with him isn’t important." Flossie Wright closed in, propping her elbow on Chloe Bell’s shoulder, her voice carrying a seductive power, "What’s important is, do you think you’re good enough for him?"
"Hey—" Chloe Bell was displeased.
"Leaving aside status and background, just considering looks and capabilities," Flossie Wright paused, then patted her shoulder, pointing towards Belinda Nichols, who was getting ready to grab her clothes for a shower, "Surpass her first."
Chloe Bell looked at her, then at Belinda Nichols.
The drunk person completely missed the point, instead twisting her brow in thought and speculating, "Rowdy Brightwill isn’t such a superficial person, is he?"
"You might as well try."
Flossie Wright shrugged and didn’t bother to engage with her further.
Many had their eyes on Rowdy Brightwill, but Flossie Wright certainly didn’t have the energy to deal with each of them.
After all—
He must have developed quite a few tactics to handle his admirers over the many years.
Chloe Bell, on the other hand, lowered her head and touched her chin with her hand, seemingly thinking seriously about the issue.
As for Devina Millet, after witnessing the whole scene, she furrowed her brows.
Lost in thought, she looked down, her mind seemingly elsewhere.
Cassie Ferguson wasn’t interested in these matters but she was somewhat curious about Flossie Wright. While doing her own things, she inevitably overheard their conversation.
As for Jessie Grain and Mariana Buck, they had some understanding of the grudges between Flossie Wright and Rowdy Brightwill but had no intention of paying attention to them.
And Iris Dukes—
Still lay sprawled on her bed, fast asleep, unbothered by any amount of noise.
The next day.
From early morning, all the trainees heard the lively sounds.
They were all coming from the official members of Aaron Doom’s team preparing for the evening party.
It was very lively.
But, it wasn’t for them.
The trainees could only look on with envy.
Since this batch of trainees included an active participant like Rowdy Brightwill, it confirmed that they wouldn’t be left envying that evening.
So, by the afternoon, when Flossie Wright returned from the Training Ground, she saw most of the trainees busying themselves on the small open space next to the Dormitory building.
In this batch of trainees, there were still 56 male soldiers and 43 female soldiers left.
And, at a glance, Flossie Wright saw at least fifty people "at work" on the open space.
"Flossie, do you want to join us?"
Chloe Bell, who was carrying a few planks, stopped and invited her.
"What’s going on?"
Flossie Wright asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, Rowdy Brightwill and a few others are setting up our own party, building the stage right now," Chloe Bell explained briskly. "Some have gone to the nearby mountains to look for game, and apparently they had a good haul. We’ll have enough food for tonight."
Flossie Wright nodded, catching on.
This kind of effort to go against the official members was indeed very much Rowdy Brightwill’s style.
Since it’s a holiday, no one was going to manage them anyway.
"Coming along?" Chloe Bell continued to invite.
"I’ve got plans tonight," Flossie Wright replied nonchalantly.
"It’s the holidays, what could you possibly have to do?" Chloe Bell muttered, but then seemed to remember something and looked at her incredulously, "It’s New Year’s Eve tonight; you’re not planning to spend it on the Training Ground, are you?"
"She won’t."
Flossie Wright didn’t respond, but a cold voice took over.
Chloe Bell turned toward the voice, and upon seeing the figure clearly, her eyes widened in shock.
Hutchinson... Instructor?
