Ultimately, Glenn was thinking about her well-being.
"I have a question."
Flossie Wright took a step back, freeing herself from Glenn’s grasp.
She kept a safe distance from Glenn.
Glenn remained silent, waiting for her question.
"If during a mission, you suddenly find that your ideals conflict with the mission, would you choose to obey or disobey?" Flossie raised her eyebrow lightly and asked this question calmly.
This was the first time she tentatively sought the answer to that question.
And whether she could stay or accept Glenn depended on the answer behind it.
With a frown, Glenn looked at her calmly and uttered these two words.
"Why?" Flossie suddenly laughed.
That slight smile left no trace, but on that exquisite face, it became even colder.
"I am the Captain."
With deep, unfathomable eyes, Glenn stated in a level tone.
He was the Captain, playing a decisive role during the mission. If he disobeyed the military order, wouldn’t it lead the entire team to rebel?
The country nurtured and valued them, they received the best training, had the most advanced equipment, and during missions, his decisions as the Captain would influence the future development of the entire team.
This was not just about him.
"So, even if you know it’s wrong, you would carry it out to the end?" Flossie asked coldly.
"No," Glenn denied, "we wouldn’t dwell on right or wrong."
"That’s not enough to convince me," Flossie shrugged, "It’s too late, I should go."
With that, avoiding Glenn’s gaze, Flossie walked directly towards the door.
She intended to walk past Glenn, but he slightly shifted his step, blocking Flossie’s way.
Flossie frowned but didn’t want to look at him.
"I can’t convince you."
Her wrist was grabbed, Glenn’s voice was low, softly falling to her ear.
Flossie lifted her gaze a bit, her dark eyes reflecting Glenn’s deeply contoured face.
"If you pursue this question, you will only become more confused," Glenn said softly, "Different thoughts lead to different choices, some would choose to disobey, some would choose to obey, but I hope you don’t choose. If you truly have to choose, remember, you’re wearing this military uniform, you’re loyal to this country."
Light cast into her eyes, reflecting shining spots.
In the past, Flossie would say, this military uniform posed no constraint on her, she could take it off anytime she wanted.
However, for her at the moment, that reason was not valid.
Choosing to join Aaron Doom meant she wanted to become a soldier and fulfill a soldier’s duty.
"I will try."
A moment later, Flossie regained her composure and replied this way.

Glenn’s expression eased a bit, "Regarding Perry Reed, I will not interfere. If he wants to find you, I can’t stop it. But one thing, don’t let me see you looking for him."
After a slight pause, Glenn lowered his eyes, glancing at the supper in her other hand.
"Especially, holding a late-night snack at such a late hour."
He slowly added, his words full of threat.
"It’s for Belinda Nichols."
Flossie explained helplessly.
It was hard enough to get a hundred from Joshua Bailey; she was rich enough to give Perry Reed a meal. It would be more fitting for Perry Reed to treat her.
