However, what caught Calvin Ramos’s attention was that even though he was the one in control, Flossie Wright seemed rather calm. She didn’t rush, mastering the techniques she was taught instead. It was not as simple as it appeared on the surface.
"Catch, Flossie!"
All of a sudden, Janice Wood shouted unexpectedly. Without even looking, Flossie instantly blocked Calvin Ramos’s attack. In a blink, she took a few steps back, reached out and grabbed the collar of the ninth male soldier that Janice had kicked towards her, pulling him straight in front.
At the same time, seeing the bruised face of the ninth male soldier made Calvin Ramos, who was about to throw a punch, abruptly hold back his movement.
Subsequently, the competition seemed to become a farce. Flossie shamelessly used the ninth male soldier as a shield, making him fend off Calvin whenever she failed to avoid an attack. This also restricted Calvin from moving, expanded her attack range, and allowed her to focus on sneaky attacks, gradually pushing Calvin out of the ring.
Not long after, Janice, who had already defeated another soldier, also joined the fight. She was already strong and Calvin was being threatened by the "hostage", hence, he was at a disadvantage. After a short scuffle, he was successfully driven out of the ring.
At the moment the ninth male soldier was thrown out of the ring, everyone gaped at the two shameless female soldiers, not sure how to feel.
Describing them as cruel and shameless was an insult to these two words!
Such underhanded tactics made the other female soldiers too embarrassed to celebrate their victory. Only Rowdy Brightwill, who also lacked a sense of shame, found their strategy particularly interesting, his face illuminating with a radiant smile.
"That’s all for today’s training! All male soldiers, gather in the drill ground tonight!"
After calling everyone to gather, Rowdy Brightwill grinned as he finished his sentence, his last statement visibly wounded all the men who were unwilling to admit defeat!
Thus, the drill ground that night was unusually lively, to the extent that the female soldiers who were sleeping could hear their training shouts.
While the female soldiers lamented for the male soldiers, they also felt fortunate to have escaped such a disaster and they couldn’t help but show some leniency towards Flossie and Janice’s shameless actions.
In the following few days, there was no combat training and the soldiers practiced individually. However, Abram Phillips noticed an unusual rivalry building up between the male and female soldiers. Even during line-up training, if members from both sides were present, it would turn into a competition of who could persist longer.
After learning about the reason, Abram Phillips was...torn within.
On a lazy Saturday morning, the atmosphere around the new recruit dormitory was particularly relaxed. The usual wake-up call was missing and the soldiers, who rarely got a chance to sleep in, naturally did not want to leave their beds.
On a nearby hill, Flossie, panting heavily, collapsed into the bushes by the side of the road. Two hours of continuous running had exhausted her. As sweat dripped down her face, she closed her eyes wearily, succumbing to the overwhelming fatigue, not wanting to move at all.
For Flossie, all she needed was to enhance her physical fitness and the Forces provided her with the perfect conditions. Weekends were her opportunity to find the right way to train.
Her breath gradually became steady as she gasped for air. Half asleep, she heard an approaching set of footsteps. Other people also run on this path, so she didn’t think much of it. But as soon as she sensed a strange aura close by, she snapped her eyes open, to see a hand reaching out to her face. Not losing a moment, she grabbed that hand, and the other immediately headed to strike the other person’s throat.
The stranger seemed surprised and tried to block her sudden attack. But, lying on the ground, Flossie had the upper hand: she lifted her legs and tripped him, causing him to lose his balance and fall. However, what Flossie hadn’t anticipated was that he, taking advantage of falling, grabbed her shoulder and pulled her along. And with him, she too toppled to the side...
As they were near a slope, they tumbled down the hill together. Due to the exhaustion, Flossie’s only instinct was to grab whatever she could to steady herself, but her entire body was pressed against him. As she braced herself to hit the ground, the ground beneath her unexpectedly gave way. She let out a soft gasp as they fell straight down.
Finally rolling to a stop, Flossie felt a sharp squeeze on her foot, pain spreading instantly.
"Stay still."
A low voice sounded next to her, surprisingly attractive but aloof.
Half propped up, she turned her head slightly, lifting her clear, dark eyes to see the person.
However, upon seeing his face, she couldn’t help but freeze, confusion and bewilderment fleeting across her eyes, followed by clarity and realization. But, as all these emotions subsided, they were replaced by a deep rage!
What a jerk!
