Nowadays, people do not blame themselves for dirtying others, don’t appreciate help when it’s given, and are forceful with their apologies... such behavior.
It’s as if she was in the right, portraying herself as the victim.
This mindset genuinely surprised Flossie Wright.
"Alright, let her go."
With a wave of her hand, Flossie Wright said with a furrowed brow.
The man with a gold chain glanced at the girl and coldly bellowed, "Get lost."
People from their line of work naturally prefer the strong. Being a tad bit weak physically was fine, but at the very least, they must be mentally tenacious. Those with a princess’s temper, who’d cry at the slightest touch, were a real headache.
Really, is it necessary?
The man with the gold chain couldn’t understand this.
These people hadn’t really seen hardship!
With clenched teeth, the girl glared at him through teary eyes, and then ran towards her breakfast shop.
"Flossie Wright?"
A slightly astonished voice soon floated over.
She turned her head to look.
At the street corner stood the familiar Jocelyn Carrington, dressed in a short coat, black skirt, leggings, white boots. Her attire was akin to that of a college student, elegant enough to be distinguishable in a crowd.
It was she who was speaking.
Belinda Nichols stood beside her.
Clad in a simple casual jacket, jeans, and a pair of sports shoes, Belinda maintained her usual cold silence. From afar, she watched Flossie, not even moving her eyes.
Flossie raised an eyebrow.
She had indeed been caught.
However, fortunately, it was them.
"What... are you doing here?"
Jocelyn Carrington took a few steps forward but didn’t get too close. She stopped three meters away and asked Flossie.
Truth be told, she and Belinda had both witnessed the earlier scene.
It was a blatant case of bullying.
She had intended to intervene but was stopped by Belinda. Regardless of Belinda’s reasons, after calming down, Jocelyn Carrington noticed the other two men.
One was strong and mighty, the other mysterious and inscrutable.
A visible aura of power, a hidden danger.
Predictably, neither of them would be easy to provoke.
She wasn’t foolish enough to march in openly. Naturally, she only emerged after the situation had resolved itself.
Flossie looked at them, furrowed her eyebrows, and asked, "What are you two doing here?"
"Just passing by."
Standing next to Jocelyn Carrington, Belinda replied indifferently.
Flossie responded nonchalantly, not showing if she had really heard or not.
"And you?" Jocelyn Carrington frowned, quite irritated, she said, "Given what just happened..."
Lowering her voice, she continued, "If you violate military discipline, you would be punished!"
A soldier arguing with civilians, was she not ashamed?
"Did I hit her?" Flossie Wright raised an eyebrow.
"Well, no."
With a smirk, Flossie then asked, "Did I insult her?"
Hesitating, Jocelyn Carrington lowered her voice even further, "No..."
Feeling a chill sweep over her, Jocelyn stopped mid-sentence. Suddenly, she looked up, meeting a pair of cold, dangerous eyes; she staggered backward, as if shocked by electricity.
Perry Reed stood at the top of the stairs, hands behind his back, gaze directly on her. His scrutinizing and repulsed expression pierced into her soul.
Her heart was racing; scared.
In the pharmacy, the shop assistant’s head poked out, only to swiftly withdraw.

"Flossie Wright, you can’t cooperate with civilians!"
Regaining her senses and knowing she had embarrassed herself, Jocelyn Carrington looked at Flossie Wright quite annoyedly.
"The Instructor clearly said we can’t collaborate with you..." Flossie descended the steps, lazily looking at them with a smile, "Why are you two together?"
