"Flossie Wright?"
It was Bard Walker’s slightly surprised voice.
The two people looked up to see.
Bard Walker was dressed in dark blue regular dress, carrying a few shopping bags in his hand, looking spirited, not as severe and rigid as when he was in the forces, but rather approachable.
Accompanying Bard was his wife.
The wife was not a part of the forces, Flossie Wright had never met her before, so she took a closer look, only to be met with a gentle and warm smile.
Two seconds later, Flossie Wright looked away.
"Captain Bard."
Flossie Wright nodded slightly, greeting Bard Walker.
"Hmm." Bard Walker responded, then quickly glanced at Perry Reed beside them, his voice slightly heavy, "And who might this be?"
When he looked at Perry Reed, Bard Walker felt a sudden surge of caution in his heart.
He had been in the forces for many years and had seen people of all kinds, but he couldn’t help but feel a cold sweat down his back when he met Perry Reed.
Some people, just by their sheer aura, could be an irresistible force.
Among the people he had met over the years, there was only one such person.
Glenn Hutchinson.
He was a man who just by standing there, could win people’s heart.
And now, the man in front of him was another.
Perry Reed sat there relaxed, with an indifferent demeanor. His bandit-like aura was in stark contrast to the upright demeanor of a soldier. He gave off a chilling and gloomy aura for no reason. He slightly raised his head to look up at people above him without being in a weaker position. The cold and dangerous pupils under his hat brim, insinuating a smile, were hair-raising.
It was clear that he was no good-natured person.
Nor was he someone ordinary.
Bard Walker was slightly taken aback, from this man’s eyes, he saw hostility and murderous intent.
"A friend."
With her simple answer, Flossie Wright sent a warning look to Perry Reed.
Perry Reed’s gaze fell, his smile cold, "A friend?"
Looking up, Flossie Wright calmly met his gaze, evidently not finding any issue with her response.
Bard Walker suddenly had a bad feeling.
Meeting during the holidays, their relationship was obviously not ordinary, this man looked dangerous and malicious but was restrained when facing Flossie Wright. Moreover, Flossie Wright showed no intention of backing down. In such a situation...it was clear that there was something between the two.
But, what about Glenn...
Bard Walker, who was finally relieved of worrying about Glenn Hutchinson’s marital affairs, inexplicably felt a strong sense of urgency.
Flossie Wright’s message was clear.
There is no possibility between us two.
Perry Reed’s face turned dark, his eyes growing colder, and anger burning in them, enough to burn a person to ashes.
The air became tense and dangerous.
Madam Walker slightly tightened her grip on Bard Walker’s arm, evidently startled by the sudden change in the atmosphere.
In a soothing manner, Bard Walker patted her hand, his expression slightly condensed. The relationship between these two might not be as simple as he imagined, so he thought for a moment, found an excuse, and left with his wife.
"Let’s eat."
When the two left, Flossie Wright had no interest in continuing the standoff with Perry Reed. She slightly retracted her gaze and picked up the chopsticks placed aside.
Perry Reed did not speak, nor did he move. He just silently watched her.
His gaze was very oppressive, those hawk like eyes, always possessing a forceful power.
Flossie Wright ate hastily, then put down the chopsticks.
"Let’s go."
