"Flossie Wright!"
The angry shout mingled with the sound of a machine gun being loaded. Jocelyn Carrington, who had been waiting for a long time, was holding a gun, and its dark muzzle was aimed directly at Flossie Wright.
Gazing over, the fierce-looking Jocelyn Carrington caught her eye. Flossie Wright raised her eyebrows at the gun pointed at her, her demeanor calm, as if she had no fear of the gun at all.
A female soldier under the tree, troubled about how to retrieve the balloon, suddenly heard the noise. She shivered, instinctively looking at Jocelyn Carrington. Seeing Jocelyn Carrington’s movement of holding a gun, she immediately glanced in the opposite direction, her face instantly pale with fear.
"Jocelyn, what are you doing?"
The female soldier stared at Jocelyn Carrington in shock, her eyes almost bulging out, and watched her in disbelief.
She was not a soldier from the Second Squad, and of course, she didn’t know about the issue between Jocelyn Carrington and Flossie Wright. However, after a moment of contemplation, it seemed like she figured something out.
Before she arrived, Jocelyn Carrington had been waiting here, but she did not know what Jocelyn Carrington was doing here. After asking a few times without response, she did not continue to inquire further.
Could it be that she was specifically waiting for Flossie Wright’s arrival?
She had heard about the conflict between Flossie Wright and Jocelyn Carrington, but the female soldier never imagined that their conflict would escalate to the point of breaking discipline.
Jocelyn Carrington stared unblinkingly at Flossie Wright, her hands tightly gripping the gun, her knuckles turning white. The wild wind swept mercilessly over her, whistling as it went. She gritted her teeth, the resolution in her eyes wavering slightly.
"Jocelyn, if you’re discovered doing this, the instructor will punish you!" nervously suggested the female soldier. Although she could ignore the feud between these two, seeing it happen right before her eyes and not acting could result in her also being punished later.
They were not supposed to compete against each other, there was absolutely no reason to shoot at their own comrades. If Jocelyn Carrington indeed killed Flossie Wright, the punishment would undoubtedly be severe.
Being thus persuaded, there seemed to be some change in Jocelyn Carrington’s expression.
For several days, she had been hesitating, wondering whether to risk "killing" Flossie Wright in order to vent her anger. Today, while waiting here, she was praying from start to finish that Flossie Wright would not appear. Such that she could then reasonably accept Flossie Wright’s "death" and rush to the finish line in the last few minutes.
But alas, in the last few moments of the game, Flossie Wright showed up.

She wasn’t sure if Flossie Wright was toying with her. If Flossie Wright provoked her to shoot, Jocelyn would face severe criticism, and might even be reprimanded. And yet, Flossie Wright would lose nothing. The incident might even benefit her when they parted ways.
If she let Flossie Wright off and didn’t expose what Flossie had done, she would have to live with a scar that wouldn’t heal. Perhaps because she let Flossie Wright "die", Flossie might be assigned to a less than desirable unit in the future.
But if she didn’t vent this anger, every time she thought of Flossie Wright’s provoking gaze, she would seethe in fury.
"Not shooting anymore?"
In the midst of Jocelyn Carrington’s hesitation, Flossie Wright coolly spoke, interrupting her train of thought.
Suddenly lifting her eyes, Jocelyn Carrington frowned heavily, her gaze fixed on Flossie Wright. This woman didn’t regard her at all, and her expression was filled with a languid indifference, as if whether Jocelyn shot or not, had no meaning whatsoever.
