Little Hutchinson looked up, spreading question marks all over his face.
"Here’s the thing, darling, Auntie needs to step out for a bit and your sister will be scared if she stays home alone. Would you be okay with her coming over to your place?" The woman spoke with an unusually tender smile, easily evoking a sense of affinity in others. She then thrust the thermos in her hand to the young boy, "This is the soup Auntie cooked, brought for you and your dad, consider it as a thank you gift, okay?"
Little Hutchinson habitually sought Flossie’s opinion before obediently directing his gaze to the woman, nodding his head in agreement, "Okay."
The woman found his small gestures so awkward that her smile became slightly stiff, though she strived to maintain her composure, nearly causing her facial muscles to twitch.
Slowly standing up, she cast reluctant glances into the living room. Perhaps destiny was on her side. The moment she was about to turn around and leave, the man she had been longing to see suddenly appeared.
"Dinner’s ready."
Glenn Hutchinson, who had finished preparing all the dishes, sauntered over. Initially, he just wanted to inform Flossie and Little Hutchinson, but as soon as he stood beside Flossie, he felt a piercing stare directly on him.
He furrowed his brows and directed his gaze towards the door, spotting the woman who was brimming with radiant smiles. Her eyes were sparkling with excitement, conveying her feelings implicitly. However, all Glenn could do was wrinkle his eyebrows at the sight.

"How do you do, Hutchinson," the woman greeted, standing at the door as if her legs were glued to the floor.
However, Glenn Hutchinson merely looked at her with a puzzled expression, asking, "Who are you?"
The woman’s face stiffened slightly, temporarily forgetting to introduce herself.
"Daddy," said Little Hutchinson, clutching the thermos as he walked towards Glenn Hutchinson on his short little legs, struggling to lift his head to look at Glenn, and explained, "The auntie lives upstairs, she needs to go out now, and she wants her daughter to stay here for a while."
Listening to Little Hutchinson’s explanation, the woman’s smile softened and gratefully said to Glenn Hutchinson, "Thank you."
Flossie stood by, observing the drama casually. Despite the woman’s smile, she felt a sense of discomfort. She subtly rolled her eyes before turning towards the living room, but in the process, a hand suddenly reached out from the side, wrapping around her waist. Taken by surprise, Flossie’s eyes flickered, and before her eyes was Glenn Hutchinson’s strikingly chiseled profile. She was pulled to Glenn’s side in no time.
From the outside, it seemed as if they were leaning against each other.
Having been used as a shield countless times, Flossie shot an annoyed glance at Glenn.
She wouldn’t exactly say she was angry. After all, this sort of thing was no big deal and Flossie had played this role before. But, she indeed felt irritated every time when Glenn thoughtlessly played this trick whenever she was around. Although his trick always served the purpose, it had always been at the cost of Flossie’s dignity.
Despite her irritation, throwing a tantrum over such a trivial matter would make her look petty. So apart from trying to trick Glenn occasionally, Flossie didn’t have other ways to get back at him.
Sure enough, seeing their intimate demeanor, the woman at the door had a change of expression, which soured as if she had tasted a fly.
Could it be that the two of them...
Were they really in the relationship she suspected?
"Not a problem."
Glenn squinted his eyes and nonchalantly replied.
