Oceanic camouflage.
The flashlight wavered, and Flossie’s hand suddenly halted.
She spotted a familiar face.
Simultaneously, a surprised voice rang out, "Flossie, what are you doing here?!"
Squinting, Flossie took a closer look.
A man with dignified features, a resolve-filled face, and tall, straight posture.
Patrick Morrison.
Flossie withdrew her flashlight.
At this moment, Perry Reed approached her, a trench coat hanging off his arm with a white shirt underneath. As he approached, he grabbed the coat by both shoulders, and draped it over Flossie.
Feeling the coat’s chill, Flossie looked up at him, seeing a certain insistence in his eyes, she chose not to object.
However, this scene held a different implication through Patrick Morrison’s eyes.
In the darkness, the man’s figure wasn’t clear, but his presence was certainly hard to ignore. From the first glance, Patrick noticed him, but he felt a pressure holding back the light of the flashlight until it was swept towards Flossie.
"Do you know him?"
The comrade closer to him asked Patrick in a low voice.
Patrick nodded slightly.
However, questions surfaced in his mind.
As far as he knew, Flossie was from the Navy. After demonstrating her skills in the Capital City one night, she became the hot topic of discussion among their team. Many suspected she was part of the same fleet as Rowdy Brightwill.
The East Sea Fleet.
Of course, regardless of where she was, Flossie was a soldier.
Not in uniform, driving a luxury car, not marching with a team... All these made it hard not to raise doubts.
Mulling it over, standing on the ruins, Patrick carefully stepped closer, the flashlight illuminating their feet.
"This area is dangerous. There could be an aftershock at any time. You’d better step back."
His voice was stern, with a note of warning.
After a pause, he added, "And.. it’s raining. The road ahead is not easy."
Perry Reed didn’t care to respond. However, as his words reminded Perry of Flossie’s illness, he paid heed.
In the pouring rain, Flossie stood erect, her backbone as rigid as steel, showing no sign of bending or moving. In the dim light, he could see the large raindrops falling on her, her hair soaked through and her face pale.
With a sharp focus, he reached out his hand to touch Flossie’s forehead.
Perry Reed’s face darkened instantaneously.
"Where is your Assembly Point?!"
Before he could finish, Flossie interrupted him, "Perry Reed!"
Gripping her shoulders tightly, Perry Reed turned to Flossie, with a stern look he responded, emphasizing each word, "Listen to me."
Though she wanted to break away, she couldn’t muster the strength. Flossie frowned, but she remained silent.
Patrick lifted his flashlight. Through the veil of rain, he could see her pale face from a distance and immediately understood.
"I’ll take you there," Concerned, Patrick’s voice hardened. He turned to his comrade, "You go ahead and join up with Team Three. I will come once I have escorted them."
Being a reasonable man, his comrade nodded in agreement.
Consequently, Patrick hastened his pace, briskly stepping down from the collapsed building and stopped stably in front of the two.
"Follow me."
With these words to the pair, Patrick avoided making eye contact with Perry, and led them towards the Assembly Point.
Flossie stayed still.
Close behind, Perry’s hand tightened on her shoulders. Bending slightly, he passed his other hand under her knees and lifted her.
Flossie grimaced, lifted her flashlight and turned it off.

Lowering his eyes, he witnessed Flossie’s irritation, which surprised Perry into laughter, "Don’t be mad, you have nothing to be ashamed of."
Closing her eyes, Flossie ignored him.
