August 19th, a Monday, Rowdy Brightwill was scheduled for training, but since Captain Bard Walker was still at sea training, Drake Easton had taken over the team.
Using their life-and-death revolutionary friendship as leverage, Rowdy Brightwill wheedled and cajoled until he managed to wrangle half a day’s leave from Drake Easton.
From the moment they met up until nine o’clock, Rowdy Brightwill stayed right by Flossie Wright’s side.
Even when Flossie Wright had finished eating and ran a few laps, he followed without fail.
Flossie Wright simply pretended he wasn’t there, still going about her tasks at her own pace.
Around nine o’clock.
Flossie Wright arrived at the Military District Hospital together with Rowdy Brightwill.
"Hey, are we really coming empty-handed?"

Walking into the hospital entrance, Rowdy Brightwill tilted his head and asked Flossie Wright somewhat uncomfortably.
"Otherwise?"
Flossie Wright gave him a sidelong glance.
"Like some fruit, flowers or whatever." He looked at her with wide eyes, Rowdy Brightwill suggested.
His smile was a bit stiff, and although he affected a casual demeanor, it was tinged with obvious guilt.
If it had been in the past, he might have rushed over as soon as Nancy Phillips had an accident, boldly and without needing to bring anything. But now he had to involve Flossie Wright upfront, nervous all the way as if he were trying to win back a wife who’d gone to visit her parents’ home.
However, Flossie Wright could understand.
The cause lay with her; ever since her last sparring match with Jessie Grain, Rowdy Brightwill had entered a state of cold war with Nancy Phillips.
It hadn’t gotten any better since then.
Now that Nancy Phillips was injured, Rowdy Brightwill, with his soft heart, had already cast aside the awkwardness from before, busy coming to check on Nancy Phillips’ condition.
He was awkward, no way around it.
"Then let’s go buy something."
Shrugging, Flossie Wright went along with his suggestion.
Armed with a few items, Rowdy Brightwill might feel less embarrassed.
"Uh," Rowdy Brightwill blinked, suddenly finding himself in a dilemma, "There’s nowhere to buy around here, right?"
Indeed, there weren’t many shops near the Military District Hospital, and it would be somewhat difficult to acquire fresh flowers or fruit in a short time.
"Come here."
Stopping, Flossie Wright gestured to him with a crook of her finger.
Giving her a puzzled look, Rowdy Brightwill pondered for a moment and then walked over obediently.
Looking at Flossie Wright, he slightly lowered his head and listened attentively.
Flossie Wright whispered something to him.
"This ..." In a flash, Rowdy Brightwill’s eyes widened, filled with surprise, "this might not be a good idea."
"With a face as good-looking as yours, what could possibly be ’not a good idea’?"
Flossie Wright crossed her arms and squinted as she scrutinized him.
In the Forces, Rowdy Brightwill’s good looks and clean-cut appearance made him seem like a pretty boy, lacking the ruggedness of a real man. He might be popular in the Entertainment Circle, but in the Forces, he was seen as effeminate.
Of course, it was a different matter entirely at the hospital.
Steeled with determination, Rowdy Brightwill threw caution to the wind.
Making a snap decision, his sharp gaze swept outside, quickly locking onto a target. After straightening his military cap, he stood tall and walked towards his goal.
Flossie Wright watched from the side, her narrow eyes curling into a slight smile, barely concealing her amusement.
Indeed, Rowdy Brightwill had the looks, the charm, and the eloquence. Although he rarely engaged in deceitful tricks, this kind of task came naturally to him.
In less than ten minutes, he triumphantly returned, carrying a basket of fruit and holding a bunch of flowers.
Oh, of course, he had paid for them.
"Let’s go."
Having already enquired about the hospital room, Flossie Wright waved him on, leading the way.
