Flossie Wright took a few extra glances.
Towering nearly at one meter ninety and not particularly old, he emanated a cold elegance with his handsome, properly delineated features. His black pupils were as cold as ice, and his demeanor was composed and self-assured. His entire being radiated a bold sharpness, yet he remarkably concealed an inward aura.
His hands tucked into his pockets, he strolled leisurely toward Austin Shepherd’s direction.
His commanding presence indeed drew attention, but it was the insignia on his shoulders that made Flossie take those extra looks.
Two bars and a star.
His military rank was not minor.
"There’s nothing else, just get to know each other, familiarize yourselves with the teams you’ll be leading, and make sure they don’t cause trouble..."
Austin Shepherd’s instructions were straightforward:
First, get to know each other.
Second, you must not cause trouble.
Third, your team must not cause trouble.
Fourth, their management abilities would affect their assessment scores.
That was all.
Having said that, he left.
So, not two minutes later, Flossie returned to Dormitory 105, feeling quite bored.
"You’re here too?"
Just as she reached the doorstep, she heard a mild voice inquiring.
Flossie turned her head.
It was Jessie Grain.
The other person had a height advantage, so when Flossie looked at someone, she couldn’t help but look up, which was somewhat uncomfortable.
Withdrawing her gaze, Flossie nodded slightly and pushed the door open to enter.
No sooner had she stepped in than Flossie paused, subconsciously raising her eyebrows and swiftly scanning the dormitory.
The atmosphere was tense and hostile.
Belinda Nichols leaned against the ladder by the bed, her arms crossed, eyes coldly lifted, her expression indifferent, as if the matter did not concern her.
Becca Reyes stood in front of her wardrobe, holding a basin, apparently intending to take a bath, but currently staring straight ahead with a cold expression.
In the middle of the beds on either side, Jocelyn Carrington stood facing an unfamiliar female military officer.
With her back to the door, Jocelyn’s posture alone conveyed that she was gearing up for a fight, her elbow poised across her chest, ready to swing at any moment.
The female officer was clad in ocean camouflage, her rank marked by one bar and a star, wearing a camouflage cap that shaded her forehead while revealing a pair of beautiful eyes beneath, features delicate and exquisitely beautiful, instantly captivating.
At the sound of the door opening, she slightly lifted her eyes, accidentally locking gazes with Flossie Wright.
Having just made her entrance in front of everyone to fetch the roster, it was natural that this female military officer recognized her.
But, at the lift of her eyes, the smile faded, replaced by disdain and challenge, her scrutinizing gaze sharp and indifferent, showing complete disregard for Flossie.
Flossie didn’t take it personally, subtly lowering her eyes and avoiding further eye contact.
"What happened?"
Jessie Grain was the first to speak.
Though they were Veteran Soldiers, they had all been selected from the entire Cameron Bailey, and each company was different.
So, apart from Flossie, she didn’t recognize anyone else in this dormitory.
But she could guess right off the bat that there must be veterans among them...
"Captain Grain, is it?"
Becca Reyes was the one who spoke.
She placed the basin on the table and walked straight over, a smile on her face that was anything but kind.
Watching her, Jessie Grain nodded.
"It’s like this," Becca clapped her hands and pointed at the female military officer, smiling as she explained, "That one, yes, that officer—can an officer just beat someone up without a word, really giving one of our teammates a solid punch..."
