On either side, there were two beds, with the window and the door to the right, leading out to the corridor and the attached restroom.
Upon entering, the four silently chose their beds.
Flossie Wright claimed the spot on the right by the window, with Belinda Nichols on the same side.
Opposite Flossie was Mariana Buck, and naturally, facing Belinda Nichols was Jessie Grain.
There was no dispute over which bed to take; it was as if they had reached some kind of unspoken agreement.
In silence, they began to organize their belongings.
Their possessions were few: beyond the essentials issued by the Forces, they primarily had their own clothes and communication devices, and at most, a few personal hobbies.
"Knock, knock, knock."
The half-open door was tapped lightly.
The first to speak up was Jessie Grain.
After putting all the sabers in the closet, Flossie heard the sound and turned her head to look at the door.
Standing at the door was Rowdy Brightwill, carrying several boxes.
"What’s this about?"
With furrowed brows, Flossie walked over.
"Delivery for you, all from Uncle Ye and Aunt Chai," leaning against the door, Rowdy Brightwill blinked, looking somewhat schadenfreude, "I bet they didn’t coordinate beforehand, so there are two sets of everything."
Stopping in front of him, Flossie looked down to see two laptops, two tablets, and... two MP3s.
Lastly, there was an SLR camera.
Seeing this, the corners of Flossie’s mouth twitched slightly.
"Although your dad forbade you to bring some things when you first arrived at the Forces, he later asked me about it. Afraid that you would get bored, he bought these and sent them to you, it’s been a month or two... you know, only now can I give them to you."
As he spoke, Rowdy Brightwill cleared his throat, "But, surprisingly, Aunt Chai also coincidentally bought you a set."
After thinking it over, Flossie silently accepted the items.
"Also, there’s too much stuff. Aunt Chai also sent a guitar over for you, I’ll bring it to you later."
Flossie nodded stiffly.
These two parents were really "thoughtful."
But at least the items were practical, so she humbly accepted them.
As for the guitar...
The former Flossie could play, and so could the current one, and she figured it could be a pastime.
"You didn’t bring a laptop, did you?"
Having placed the items on her computer desk, Flossie asked Belinda Nichols.
Belinda Nichols looked at her.
"Don’t despise it, just make do with this for now."
Sorting out three extra items, Flossie walked over and very ostentatiously placed them on Belinda Nichols’ desk.
Belinda Nichols was somewhat stunned.
At the door, Rowdy Brightwill was gaping.
Good heavens, the items specially shipped by Aunt Chai and Uncle Ye were definitely no ordinary goods, and Flossie was giving them away like a nouveau riche?
After some thought, Rowdy Brightwill decided to keep mum about this.
"Rowdy Brightwill, why are you here?"
Suddenly, a voice came through.
Rowdy Brightwill turned to see Nancy Phillips, carrying a whistle.
"Hanging out."
He responded carelessly.
"Be mindful in the future, this is the women’s dormitory," Nancy Phillips warned with a glance before stepping inside and calling out, "Flossie Wright, Jessie Grain, come out with me!"
