A very familiar golden eagle.
A feeling of déjà vu.
"I’ll go first."
After God had left, Flossie Wright did not explain to Glenn Hutchinson, and prepared to leave immediately.
But, just as she stepped forward, Glenn Hutchinson caught her shoulder, directly turning her around to face him.
"Do you know Perry Reed?"
Bowing her head, Glenn Hutchinson gazed intently, locking eyes with Flossie Wright.
His look was filled with scrutiny and inquiry.
Flossie Wright affirmed.
This was something Glenn Hutchinson already knew; to deny it now would mean trouble.
"Then," pausing briefly, Glenn Hutchinson narrowed his eyes and asked in a deep voice, "do you know Erina Taylor?"
"I know of her."
With a slightly cooler look in her eyes, Flossie Wright maintained a steady voice.
She had anticipated that Glenn Hutchinson would realize, but she hadn’t expected him to directly ask her about Erina Taylor.
Of course, she hadn’t imagined he would still remember Erina Taylor.
"Know of her?" Glenn Hutchinson seized on the wording.
"She’s dead," Flossie Wright said nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders as if regretful, "never had the chance to meet her."
Glenn Hutchinson furrowed his brow.
"You didn’t know?" Flossie Wright raised an eyebrow.
But, it wasn’t long before her brows relaxed.
It was normal for Glenn Hutchinson not to know.
Erina Taylor operated abroad and posed no threat to Eastlandia; Eastlandia wouldn’t even bother to pay attention to her.
Let alone someone like Glenn Hutchinson, who spent years in the Forces.
If he knew, he would surely need to make a trip to Africa.
"Should I know?" Glenn Hutchinson furrowed his brow, his magnetic voice floating across, seemingly puzzled by the rhetorical question.
Flossie Wright shrugged her shoulders, quickly changing the subject, "Do you know her?"
"I don’t."
Glenn Hutchinson spoke deliberately, word by word.
Flossie Wright’s expression remained unchanged, but a chill flickered in the depths of her eyes.
He really didn’t know.
Before coming to the Forces, she indeed did not know of Glenn Hutchinson’s existence.
"That eagle..." Glenn Hutchinson drew out the sound.
"I don’t know."
Flossie Wright said as she turned to walk away.
Right as she finished speaking, the hand on her shoulder tightened slightly, stopping her from turning around.
The person in front of her, took a step closer.
A powerful sense of oppression bore down on her, and Flossie Wright’s nerves tensed immediately.
Looking up slightly, Flossie Wright stared at Glenn Hutchinson, unable to discern any emotion in those deep eyes.
"Have you met with him?"
Bowing his head, Glenn Hutchinson lowered his gaze, his voice betraying dissatisfaction.
Flossie Wright responded calmly.
To deny it would only make Glenn Hutchinson cling to the matter of "God," and he might extract more information out of her.
Yet, no sooner had she responded, than a flash of displeasure in Glenn Hutchinson’s eyes as he lifted her chin.
And kissed her lips.
