His approaching figure matched his departing one to a tee.
Calm and composed, he made no show nor sign of his depths, his demeanor rarely changing.
Even Flossie couldn’t discern his intentions.
Her gaze slowly dimmed.
Flossie watched him step by step emerge from the jungle, then walked slowly to the edge of the cliff, grabbing the ladder that had been let down from above with one hand.
The next moment, the helicopter took flight, and Glenn Hutchinson instantly left the ground, his figure disappearing atop the cliff in a blink as the helicopter flew off into the azure sky.
Unconsciously, Flossie touched her chin, her brow gradually furrowing.

What on earth—
Had he come for?
To make such a fuss just to notify her, to give her a leak?
Impossible.
Yet, Flossie could think of no other reason.
It wasn’t until later that Flossie realized what Glenn Hutchinson meant by "wanting to see you" was literally just "wanting to see you."
Many times, when you go through great trouble and elaborate plans to see someone, perhaps there isn’t any purpose at all.
The purest motive is just to see them for a moment.
The sound of the helicopter had alarmed the troops below the mountain.
However, since there was quite a distance between them, the platoon leader contacted her directly.
Through the communication channel, Flossie gave some perfunctory responses, and the other party did not inquire further.
It was now half-past twelve, and the exercise had yet to begin; they naturally wouldn’t be too vigilant.
As for Flossie, she stayed near the cliff for a while, getting familiar with the terrain, then slowly made her way down leisurely.
Hutchinson’s actions could have been specifically designed to disrupt her thoughts, but this speculation lasted only two seconds in her mind before she dismissed it.
Setting aside her trust in Glenn Hutchinson, even if she did not trust him, given his status and the rules of the exercise, it was impossible for him to "cheat" before the exercise began.
There was no need.
"Want some?"
Just as she arrived near the beach, someone popped out from the bushes, reaching out to offer her a wild fruit.
Flossie paused in her steps, looked at her, and saw the same frogwoman from earlier, her expression slightly stiffening, but she quickly accepted the fruit, "Thanks."
Such a polite response caused the frogwoman’s face to change, clearly surprised, before she then said, "No need to thank me."
Without continuing to speak, Flossie checked her military watch and then glanced at the empty beach, but she didn’t proceed further.
And, seeing that she stood still, the frogwoman sized her up a few times before she couldn’t help but ask, "Did you get the plan?"
"What plan?"
Looking down at her, Flossie was slightly confused.
Feeling a bit strange, the frogwoman paused, then said, "The action plan for later."
"Does it involve me?" Flossie inquired, raising an eyebrow.
The frogwoman was suddenly at a loss for words.
They were supposed to participate in the action together, so how could it not involve her?
After a moment’s thought, the frogwoman seemed to ascertain her certainty and asked, "It was discussed in the channel, didn’t you hear?"
"No," Flossie answered emphatically.
Indeed, it had been discussed through the channel.
Flossie had listened for a while, but the assorted noise was somewhat annoying, so she didn’t continue.
However, she knew about seven or eight parts of the platoon leader’s plan.
She was a sniper; she knew better than anyone what she should do, and it seemed the platoon leader didn’t have much experience, so for Flossie, following his orders was less effective than overseeing the whole from the back.
