Flossie Wright glanced upward, her eyes filled with a murderous intent.
"I need to talk to you about something."
Calvin Ramos slightly bowed his head, gazing at Flossie Wright with sincerity and insistence.
He kept his voice low, as if not wanting to disturb Becca Reyes.
She spoke coldly, brooking no refusal.
The Flossie Wright of today was different from yesterday, she won’t allow herself to be controlled by others.
In terms of fighting, if they were to engage normally, Flossie Wright could, at the very least, hold her own against Calvin Ramos.
After a bit of hesitation, disappointment flickered in Calvin Ramos’ eyes, but he eventually loosened, and then dropped, the hand that was gripping Flossie Wright’s wrist.
Commanding tone.
Calvin Ramos walked towards the door as instructed.
But before he left, he heard footsteps. Turning his head in surprise, he discovered Flossie Wright had followed him out.
With a bang, the door was shut behind them by Flossie Wright.
The room became quiet in an instant.
On the bed in the corner, the lump in the blanket stirred slightly as the head hidden underneath poked out.
Staring blankly at the pure white ceiling, Becca Reyes absently opened her eyes. After a while, she turned over and closed her eyes with a sigh.
A gentle breeze wafted through the air, carrying a chilling undertone.
Flossie Wright and Calvin Ramos stopped under the locust tree in the courtyard.
The leaves had all fallen, leaving only the bare trunk, making the courtyard seem even more desolate.
Opening abruptly, Flossie Wright crossed her arms and maintained a certain distance from Calvin Ramos.
"About last night," Calvin Ramos paused, seemingly hesitant, "I’m sorry."
Flossie’s cold eyes slightly lifted; her brows knitted together as she focused intently on Calvin Ramos, trying to read his underlying intentions.
But Calvin was indeed sincere, at least not as frivolous and provocative as he was last night. The image he put forth was quite consistent with his past demeanor.
"She’s ill." Flossie squinted her eyes.
Calvin Ramos nodded, his face heavy.
"Won’t you go to see her?"
"No need." Shaking his head, Calvin Ramos sighed lightly, "Keep her away from me."
"Is that a demand?"
Flossie’s eyes grew colder.
Looking at her earnestly, Calvin Ramos responded word by word, "No, it’s a request."
"Has she troubled you?"
Flossie laughed, "Then you have no say in this."
Up to now, other than confessing to Calvin Ramos twice, Becca Reyes had not done anything that troubled him.
She knew how to treat people well but did not cause them any trouble. Apart from Flossie Wright and Stuart Weston, nobody else even knew about her feelings.
Becca’s feelings for him were her own business. Without any trouble caused to him, Calvin Ramos had no right to control Becca Reyes’s actions.
Calvin suddenly lapsed into silence.
"Still, I’ll pass your message on."
Now that the intent of his visit was clear, there was no need to continue the conversation.
Turning around, Flossie Wright walked towards the vegetable field.
Calvin Ramos silently watched from beneath the tree as Flossie Wright’s figure receded into the distance, a hint of worry hidden in his eyes.
Because Becca Reyes was ill, Flossie Wright took leave for her and did her share of the work in her place.
The cooking class atmosphere had eased quite a bit, perhaps due to the rumor about Flossie Wright learning to cook in the morning and getting the class head worked up. It was no longer as intense and gloomy as it was in the morning. Some even went out of their way to give Flossie Wright farewell gifts.
