With a lift of her eyebrows, Flossie Wright didn’t want to argue with him, and as soon as her voice fell, she deftly hung up the phone.
On the other end, Perry Reed had no time to get angry before he heard the sound of the phone hanging up; his face instantly darkened, and uncontainable fury burst from the depths of his eyes.
Erina Taylor!
You had better not fall for him!
The grip on his phone tightened slightly, and Perry Reed radiated a dangerous aura that sent shivers down the spine.
After hanging up,
Flossie Wright bowed her head slightly, pursing her lips as she looked at her phone.
Her brows knitted together; her thoughts were in chaos.
Glenn Hutchinson...
She shouldn’t be thinking about him.
Yet whenever something happened, her thoughts inevitably drifted to him.
This subconscious thought, when fully confronted, always startled her inexplicably.
She felt somewhat irritated.
"Flossie Wright!"
Suddenly, an angry voice came from behind her.
Flossie instinctively thought to put away her phone, but after a moment’s consideration, she didn’t panic; instead, she turned to look towards the source of the voice.
She recognized it as Neal Thompson’s voice.
When she looked up, she saw only Neal Thompson’s figure.
Dressed in a military uniform and wearing an apron, with a bundle of vegetable seedlings on her shoulder, Neal Thompson was glaring at Flossie Wright, her eyes filled with anger.
The bundle was thrown down violently.
The next moment, Neal Thompson strode toward Flossie.
"Flossie Wright, where did you get your phone?!"
Her fury was towering, her eyes bulging with rage as she glared ferociously at Flossie.
"Is there a problem?"
Twirling the phone in her hand, Flossie raised an eyebrow casually as she looked at Neal Thompson.
"Flossie Wright!" Neal Thompson roared almost heartbreakingly, her eyes red and bloodshot, angrily pointing at her, "Mia Lawson had two of her fingers chopped off, do you know that?!"
Flossie’s brows furrowed.
She was being suspected?
"Tell me the truth, was it you who did it?!"
Neal Thompson’s pointing hand trembled slightly as she questioned Flossie, her eyes reddened.
Putting the phone in her pocket, Flossie answered nonchalantly.
In contrast to Neal Thompson’s rage, Flossie’s reaction was incredibly calm, like two ends of a spectrum.
And so, driven mad by rage, Neal Thompson exclaimed, "Not you?! How could it not be?!"
Asking harshly, Neal Thompson took a step closer, determined, "It must have been you who contacted someone on the outside via phone to harm Mia Lawson! Flossie Wright, how vicious can you be? Mia Lawson only injured your hand, and yet you went and chopped off two of her fingers!"
With that, Neal Thompson’s words were full of resentment, as if Flossie had committed some heinous crime.
Neal had been suspicious of her from the start.
Before leaving, Mia Lawson had only offended Flossie, and she was harmed that very night—who wouldn’t be suspicious?!
It was only unfortunate that at that time Flossie was out on training. Neal had initially wanted to report it but was stopped by Sergeant Lin, who said her reasons were insufficient.
Flossie hadn’t left the premises, and her phone and other communication devices had been confiscated. She would have had no way to get a message out to take revenge.
How could she possibly have contacted someone?!
At the time, Neal had said that she had seen Flossie on the phone that evening, arguing it was possible she had made the contact then.
But, Sergeant Lin immediately denied it.
It was Glenn Hutchinson’s phone, and if Flossie hadn’t done anything, and Neal’s actions implicated a military officer...
