Flossie Wright, leveraging his strength, began to gradually climb upwards.
The height was about thirty meters.
The training was intense, and physical exhaustion significant. Even though they had adapted to the training, climbing after a whole day’s worth of exercise was indeed challenging.
Not to mention—
Five fingers throbbing with piercing pain.
Naturally, her speed slowed down quite a bit.
The cliff wasn’t just any place; one couldn’t move around at will. Without adequate equipment, they could only rely on their own strength to reach the ground.
Either up or down.
Going down might save physical strength, but the risk factor was much higher. It was better to spend more time climbing upwards.
Additionally, there were a pair of stern and gloomy eyes on the cliff top. Flossie was watched so intensely that she felt a chill down her spine, quashing the last bit of any other thoughts.
Atop the cliff.
One after another, the other trainees completed the mission and reached the top.
It was past six o’clock.
There was no need to regroup; they would typically head to the dining hall after finishing their training. Yet, they stood one by one at the cliff top, their expressions tense as they watched the two still climbing in the middle of the cliff.
Mariana Buck was among the first to arrive, standing by the edge of the cliff to wait, witnessing every move of Sandy Cruz and Flossie Wright with her own eyes. Her pupils suddenly darkened, and her cold face bore an unclear mix of worry and something else.
Standing upright and stone-faced was Glenn Hutchinson, his eyes also betraying nervousness despite the accumulating chill within them.
Nathan Foster felt a chill up his spine.
"Who is he?"
As the two drew closer, Glenn Hutchinson’s brow furrowed, suddenly turning to Nathan Foster at his side and asking.
Nathan was already anxious, and upon hearing the voice, his body subconsciously tensed up, nearly offering Glenn Hutchinson a full military salute on the spot.
Glenn Hutchinson looked at him, his brows filled with suppressed irritation and indignation.
"He’s also here for the selection," Nathan managed to react, hurriedly explaining, "Transferred in recently, veteran soldier, named Sandy Cruz."
Sandy Cruz...
The name sounded somewhat familiar.
After a moment of contemplation, Glenn Hutchinson asked again, "Are they close?"
"Well..." Frowning and thinking, Nathan Foster didn’t pay much attention to these matters, but he had seen them eating together a few times. Thus, he guessed, "They should be pretty close."
Immediately, Glenn Hutchinson’s face darkened even more.
Nathan could only feel the chill wind behind him growing colder.
Not too far away—
It took several minutes for Mia Lawson to steady her mind.
However, her face was slightly pale, and her heart, unable to be calmed, beat rapidly.
Taking advantage of the nurse’s attention focused on the cliff below, she hesitated for a moment before quietly moving behind a tree. After staying there a while, she came back holding a sharp stone in her hand.
"The rope is so thick, and we haven’t used it for long, how could it suddenly break?"
"Not sure. But there are so many sharp rocks in the middle of the cliff, it might have been worn through or something."
"Let’s not worry about that for now, let’s just make sure everyone gets up safely first."
"Speaking of which, have Flossie and Sandy Cruz been getting particularly close recently...?"

About twenty people stood together, whispering amongst themselves.
Even though their voices were kept low, they were distinctly clear and loud to anyone listening.
Mia Lawson moved slowly by, her lips tightly pursed, her heart seemingly beating even faster.
She hadn’t thought that much.
She hadn’t intended to kill Flossie, hadn’t thought about the consequences, whether others would investigate, whether the truth would come out, or whether she would be implicated.
