After a slight tremble, the soup surface returned to tranquility. Flossie Wright, with both hands holding a bowl of soup, gradually tottered to her full height. As she leveled her gaze at Jocelyn Carrington, she saw the latter’s flabbergasted and surprised expression.
Flossie said indifferently, handing the bowl of soup to Jocelyn.
"Thank... Thank you."
Catching the bowl handed to her, Jocelyn’s face was slightly stiff. She thanked Flossie subconsciously. However, once she responded to what was happening, embarrassment engulfed her.
She felt it strange that Flossie apparently knew in advance what was going on, but her soup was right under her own eyes. Flossie had no chance to tamper with it. Concealing her internal discomfort, Jocelyn took a sip from her lips and then went out the door first.
As Jocelyn’s slightly flustered footsteps came into view, a trace of amusement emerged in Flossie’s eyes.
"Is it finished so quickly?"
Seeing the two women come out, the soldiers chatting outside couldn’t help but exclaim, most of them worried about Flossie.
Outside the kitchen was a stone table where five taste-testing soldiers had already sat down. Seeing the two bowls of Tomato Egg Soup presented, they all subconsciously glanced at Flossie and watched her nervously.
The composed Flossie caught their gaze. She then quickly glanced at Jocelyn’s bowl of soup and spoke a few words with slightly parted lips. The soldiers, who saw her clearly articulated mouth movements, were taken by surprise. Though somewhat at a loss, they vaguely remembered her words in their memory.
The soup bowl was large, and a spoon had long been placed at everyone’s side. As soon as the cooking class leader gave the order, the five soldiers who served as Guinea pigs began to fill their bowls with soup, starting with Flossie’s. To give Flossie face, they did not hesitate to fill the bowl up.

Unexpectedly, when they tasted the first spoonful, their taste buds were not assaulted. Instead, the aroma that hit their faces made them involuntarily continue tasting the soup, until they drank all the soup in the bowl.
"Enough. Let’s try Jocelyn’s now." The cooking class leader, thinking that they were just playacting, found it somewhat unbearable, waved his hand and let them continue tasting.
Jocelyn stood by, looking at the soldiers’ reactions, feeling slightly unhappy. However, upon seeing them only scoop a small spoonful of her Tomato Egg Soup into their bowls, such a blatant difference in treatment changed her face instantly.
They were simply too unfair!
However, what was even more unfair was that these people tasted a spoonful and then immediately furrowed their brows. They put down the chopsticks and bowls in their hands and had no intention to continue eating at all. It was as if the results had been decided.
The cooking class leader, who stood nearby, looked a bit grave. He felt that these young soldiers were crossed the line, but it was also difficult to exert pressure at this point, and he could only say, "Let’s vote."
"There’s no need for voting at all," a nonchalant soldier replied, lightly tapping his food bowl with his chopsticks, and then deliberately looking at Jocelyn, "In order to ensure the fairness of this competition, it’s better for you two to taste it."
Since their suspicions were made so openly, Jocelyn dared not doubt too much that they were pretending. In doubt, she took a spoon and tasted each soup. Flossie’s soup was really good, much better than what she had expected. However, when she tasted her own soup... her face froze completely.
Jocelyn couldn’t hide the shock in her eyes. In disbelief, she continued to sip the soup several times, even tasted the tomatoes and eggs. Not to mention the taste was a bit too salty, the tomatoes were cooked too soft to have any taste in her mouth at all. Even the taste of the eggs was very strange.
