Drake Easton looked at him skeptically.
Flossie Wright was the soldier he had trained. He knew her skills better than anyone. Compare to Calvin Ramos, she would be crushed in seconds.
"Trust my intuition." Rowdy Brightwill raised his eyebrows, full of confidence.
"Last time during the drill, you said to trust your intuition, and then you led us into a minefield, and our team was wiped out." Drake Easton crossed his arms, ruthlessly throwing a wet blanket, "Last year during the field survival training, you also said to trust your intuition. You got us lost, sprained your ankle, and in the end, it was the Captain who found us and brought us back."
Rowdy Brightwill’s eyebrows twitched, he had nothing to say in his defense.
This game seemed to be randomly picked by Rowdy Brightwill. But in reality, these names were all pre-selected by him.
He had analyzed with Drake Easton last night about the overall combat power of this batch of new soldiers. He then selected some representative soldiers from different ability levels. After observing the moves and skills of most people during the day, he confirmed the pre-organized list, and then the list was truly finalized.
The difference between the skills of male and female soldiers was huge, so he had to be careful in this selection. Therefore, the overall abilities of these selected new soldiers should be evenly matched.
In this match, not only will the strengths of the two groups be compared, but also their luck in the draw.
Feeling a bit embarrassed for being exposed, Rowdy Brightwill decisively abandoned his best brother and began to command the overall situation among the crowd, while tossing Drake Easton over as the referee.
Brothers are used to backstabbing each other and stepping on each other. If there is a grudge, it must be avenged immediately, no delay allowed.
The arena was a circle with a diameter of ten meters. If one side makes it outside the circle, the match is over. Of course, they could also surrender within the circle.
The first match was between Jocelyn Carrington and a middle-class male soldier. Jocelyn, always excelling in military skills, was very serious in this match and won without a doubt. The second soldier was also a top performer in combat, and the opponent drawn wasn’t particularly strong, and through a fierce confrontation, she managed to win by a hair’s breadth.
Two consecutive victories immediately boosted the morale of the female soldiers. Although the number of female soldiers who didn’t need to take action was quite small, everyone cheered enthusiastically and the atmosphere was extremely lively.
But, the following matches took a sharp downturn.
Having lost two rounds, the male soldiers couldn’t stand the loss of face, and they didn’t hold back in the following matches. They entered the field with a murderous mindset and defeated multiple female soldiers in a short time. Except for one female solider who managed to claw back one round, subsequent rounds were all losses for the females.
After the eighth match, the female soldiers fell silent.
Winning six out of ten rounds would grant victory. Out of the eight rounds so far, they had only won three. Even if the male soldiers lost all the remaining rounds, it would only result in a draw.
Janice Wood might still have a chance to win, but Flossie Wright’s presence signified failure. With her in the game, the outcome was almost certain!
"How about this," at this moment, the cocky ninth male soldier stood up, he glanced at Flossie Wright and Janice Wood, his contemptuous attitude was infuriating, "The competition is about participation, if you lose the next round, the tenth person won’t even have a chance of playing, how about the two of you go against me together!"
Then, as soon as he finished speaking, the anger of all the female soldiers flared up, and they all glared fiercely at him.
Such disrespect was even more unbearable than losing outright!
Facing a stand-off between two factions, Rowdy Brightwill rubbed his forehead, feeling a bit of a headache. But before he could step out to suppress the commotion, a figure reflected in his eyes stopped him.
Flossie Wright, who had been standing on the outskirts and watching, came to the center of the circle with slow and leisurely steps. She looked around calmly at the arrogant male soldiers, a sneer forming on the corners of her lips.
"Not very tall, nor are you particularly skilled, but you sure are cocky."
Not rushing in the least, Flossie Wright’s sharp gaze landed on the ninth male soldier, making him fall stiffly on the spot, shivering involuntarily.
Despite Flossie Wright’s quiet voice, it was loud enough that all the new soldiers in the front row could hear her clearly. The male soldiers were dumbfounded, not sure what she was up to, while the female soldiers felt elated, albeit worried about Flossie Wright’s impending predicament.
It was great to make a verbal comeback now, but how could she save face when it came time to really fight?
Janice Wood, who was still standing outside the circle, hesitated for a moment, and then started to walk into the circle. But she had barely taken a step when she heard Flossie Wright’s cool voice again—
"If we win it will only result in a draw, that’s not interesting. You might as well bring all the victorious ones to join the fight. If we win, we will have truly won. Otherwise, we are willing to forfeit."
