They naturally assumed that since she was in this uniform, she should solve all their problems.
Especially when these issues arose due to purported "soldiers".
As Rowdy Brightwill paced anxiously in the crowd, he was unsure of how to proceed. Confronting his "former teammate" directly held little promise of victory. Should anything happen to the hostage, not only he but Flossie Wright would also bear the responsibility.
But at the same time, he couldn’t just let Flossie go in there all by herself...
His mind was racing, but his thoughts were just getting murkier. He couldn’t come up with any ideas. Yet, in the break of his contemplation, Flossie set her thermos down and walked straight into the open door.
"Close the door!"
Flossie barely arrived at the entrance when she heard the thunderous command. She peered inside the room, finding an empty surgery room. The curtains by the window were already drawn, leaving the room void and vacant.
The kidnappers had pushed Mia Lawson up against a wall, but the knife on her neck hadn’t budged an inch. Upon seeing her enter, they grew more vigilant but didn’t show any intention of turning her away.

Flossie slowly walked in, taking a final glance at the clamoring crowd outside the room. As if bothered by their noise, she naturally closed the door behind her with a creak.
However, seeing Rowdy Brightwill’s anxious face through the gradually closing doorway caused her gaze to waver.
Right up until the sight of the doorway disappeared, she heard Rowdy Brightwill’s furious shout—
"She’s just a cook! What do you expect her to do?!"
The noise subsided, gradually growing quieter.
Outside the room, Rowdy Brightwill had been utterly enraged the moment the door closed. His loud, forceful voice immediately silenced everyone else. Doctors and nurses, who were just urging Flossie to go in moments ago, stared at the closed door in surprise. They then turned their gaze to Rowdy Brightwill, his face dark and stern, their mouths falling agape as though they had not anticipated this outcome.
They assumed that since Flossie knew Rowdy Brightwill personally, she must be from the Marine Corps as well, thus her combat skills would naturally be as good as his.
Had they just so adamantly demanded a cook to be a hostage?
Emotions intermingled - embarrassment, shock, gravity. Each doctor and nurse began to fall into silence. It felt as though they had done something monumentally wrong, so much so that they dared not make a sound.
As individuals who should be saving the injured and helping the dying, they subconsciously thought of the military personnel as protection, then willingly pushed a person into danger.
Furthermore, what they said was incredibly harsh.
The thermos that was left by the side still stood intact, looking particularly desolate in the now-empty space.
As a military man, Rowdy Brightwill had at least some basic decorum. He did not have the time nor energy to manage these people’s emotions, given his own frustration and concern for Flossie.
"Get on with it!"
Coupled with a firm, icy voice, Rowdy Brightwill abruptly raised his head, instinctively catching a black pistol that was tossed in his direction.
Drawing his gaze to the direction from where the gun was tossed, he saw none other than Glenn Hutchinson, who turned back midway.
His tall stature, the silhouette coming from the opposite sunlight, his profound, handsome outline, his mighty aura, and oppressive power drew everyone’s attention the moment he appeared, appearing to make hearts drop at the sight of him.
