"What’s with this door?"
Accompanying the deep inquiry, Glenn Hutchinson’s figure appeared at the entrance.
The open Dormitory door had already let in a cold draft leaving the room without a trace of warmth, yet for some reason, the moment Glenn stepped in, everyone in the Dormitory felt an eerie chill blowing from behind them.
Bone-chillingly cold.
Standing at the door, Glenn Hutchinson cut an impressive figure, tall and upright in his army training uniform. An ordinary training uniform, when worn by him, inexplicably gained a touch of texture, its edges sharp, as if squarely slamming against the onlooker.
They noticed the insignia on his shoulder.
Two bars, three stars.
The equipment in the Dormitory was very old, even the lighting was dim and fuzzy. Glenn’s sharply defined face was haloed by the light, but his stern and dangerous eyes were clear for all to see.
A wind blew through, mixed with snowflakes, whirling behind him in disarray.
Yet there he stood, utterly immovable.
"Captain Hutchinson?"
The first to speak upon seeing him was Iris Dukes.
She curiously leaned forward, her head tilting slightly, her cheeks puffing a bit, her bright, sparkling eyes fixed on the doorway, filled with surprise and excitement.
Seeing an acquaintance, Iris Dukes was naturally happy.
But while she was happy, for the others in the Dormitory, their hearts sank even further.
Even Becca Reyes on the upper bunk couldn’t help but facepalm.
For heaven’s sake, could you not be so naive?
Just when everyone was feeling gloomy, another excited voice rang out—
Upon hearing the voice, everyone turned to look at the speaker.
The Military Officer who had previously been quarreling with Flossie Wright had completely changed her expression. Her lovely features displayed only infatuation and admiration, with an eagerness that could have sent her rushing forward at any moment; it was headache-inducing for the onlookers.
She was a graduate from the same school, wasn’t she?
Glenn Hutchinson glanced around the Dormitory and glanced at the two who had called out to him, but his gaze ultimately settled on Flossie Wright.
"Flossie Wright!"
Glenn Hutchinson suddenly raised his voice, his curt tone conveying seriousness and tension.
Standing at attention, Flossie faced him and responded loudly and clearly.
"You explain!" Glenn’s expression was serious, yet inscrutable.
Being named, Flossie’s mouth twitched involuntarily as she thought of her own dark history involving breaking the cupboard door.
Quite embarrassing.
"Reporting, it was this Military Officer who broke it!"
Flossie raised her hand, pointing in the direction of the Military Officer.
The row of people standing in line, though lacking military rank, quickly stepped aside paving a clear path for Flossie’s "identification."
The Military Officer’s face turned red and then pale instantaneously.
Watching the situation unfold, Glenn’s eyes grew darker as he coldly said, "The reason."
"Because I ignored her."
Withdrawing her hand, Flossie was quite straightforward.
After all, there was no use in hiding; who knew if the blame would be placed on her? It was better to just lay out the facts.
The Military Officer took a deep breath, glaring at Flossie with irritation.
She had never seen someone so transparent!
Wouldn’t it have been easier to just make up some excuse and brush it off?
Her chest heaved in frustration.
Flossie, for her part, paid her no mind.
After holding back for two seconds, the Military Officer finally couldn’t take it anymore and stood up straight, shouting loudly towards Glenn.
