Can the anger dissipate?
Clearly it can’t.
But since finding out until now, several minutes had passed, Becca Reyes, after her initial agitation, was able to rationally face the question.
Blame Calvin Ramos?
He should never have kept it a secret from her, nor should he have agreed to be in a relationship with her.
Blame Daniel Ramos?
Blame him too.
After all, he’s the main culprit, isn’t he?
But what’s the use of blame?
Kill him? Impossible.
Beat him up? She had already vented her violence.
Report his illness? She simply couldn’t do it.
So, what could be done?
Becca Reyes subconsciously made a choice.
She wanted to keep her distance from him.
"Let go of me."
Looking at him calmly, Becca Reyes’s expression was indifferent, her tone carrying a chill.
Calvin Ramos did as she said and let go of her.
Becca Reyes took deep breaths.
"I don’t want to know why you’re telling me all this, and I don’t want to know what exactly is going on with that person named Daniel Ramos," Becca Reyes’s shoulders slightly trembled, but her words were firm and strong, "I just want to tell you that from now on, we have nothing to do with each other. Stay away from me, and I won’t bother you anymore."
Having said that, Becca Reyes seemed somewhat relieved, but there was the glint of tears in her eyes as she asked forcefully, "Is that okay?"
Staring at her.
Without blinking.
Somewhat heartbroken, but soon, Calvin Ramos nodded understandingly and replied, "Okay."
I promise you.
From now on, we’ll have no involvement, I’ll never disturb you again.
But the sense of powerlessness inside him was gradually spreading throughout his body.
Becca Reyes turned around.
Lifting her sleeve, she fiercely wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes and swiftly walked out of the cave.
Soon, she disappeared into the oppressive, gloomy curtain of rain.
Calvin Ramos could no longer see her figure.
A light drizzle hung in the air.
Raindrops fell onto the green leaves, gathered into beads, then slid down, the leaves so vibrant they appeared freshly grown, untouched by dust.
The river rushed and flowed.
Sandy Cruz and Flossie Wright were following the river.
Fortunately, this section of the river flowed northward.
Traveling by water was always easier than walking through the jungle.
The two had eaten plants and wild boar meat for lunch.
Around four o’clock, noticing the sky gradually darkening, they decided to set up camp by the riverbank.
They were not in a hurry.
Having covered a good distance the previous few days and not having lost their way, they were now close to their final destination.
At their current pace, they could arrive on the sixth day.
Neither was particularly competitive about the scores, so the like-minded pair aimed to make their night more comfortable.
Sandy Cruz prepared the Sanctuary.
Flossie Wright went fishing.
The two immediately agreed on the tasks.
While Flossie Wright was braving the rain with a self-made bamboo spear in the river, she encountered someone she didn’t expect to see.
Mariana Buck.
She was not far downstream, holding a stick with the Dagger that everyone had tied to the bottom.
She was focused on fishing.
Flossie Wright watched her for a while.
Soon, Mariana Buck noticed her presence.
Her grip on the stick tightened as she looked over with a cool indifference, her features filled with a detached air.
Even more aloof than Sandy Cruz.
Helpless, Flossie thought for a moment and decided to approach her proactively.
The two were about thirty meters apart.
Mariana Buck was in a deep water corner.
As Flossie Wright neared the deeper water, her steps suddenly halted.
Now, the two were two meters apart.
"What a coincidence."
Narrowing her eyes, Flossie Wright initiated the greeting.
