After a brief coaxing, Flossie Wright didn’t bother about him being angry. She turned around and walked towards where her motorcycle was hidden.
However, after just a few steps, she was forcibly pulled away by Glenn Hutchinson.
"What are you doing?"
Just as Flossie’s fingers touched the keys, her shoulder was grabbed by Glenn Hutchinson, who pulled her forward without a word.
Glenn Hutchinson had a stern face and, without saying a word, led Flossie forward. After several minutes, she finally saw a military jeep.
He opened the door of the front passenger seat and coldly said to her, "Get in."
Flossie rolled her eyes at him.
Without fussing with him, she got into the car directly, but not before closing the door in front of Glenn Hutchinson.
Blocked outside the door, Glenn Hutchinson’s eyebrows moved slightly. He lowered his eyes, looked through the window to see Flossie sitting inside, then moved to the driver’s seat and got in, handing Flossie a towel.
Flossie took the towel.
However, after accepting the towel, neither spoke on the way. The atmosphere in the car was so tense as if an inexplicable force was suppressing their chests.
Flossie used the towel to dry her hair, then placed it aside and closed her eyes, pretending to doze off.
The distance from here to the Anonymous base wasn’t far, but the distance to the Peacekeeping Base was significantly longer. Otherwise, Glenn Hutchinson and Perry Reed wouldn’t have given her and Daisy Deacon so much time to act. So initially planning just to close her eyes and rest, Flossie ended up actually falling asleep.
Until late at night, the jeep successfully reached the Peacekeeping Base, and Flossie finally awoke.
"Are we there?" Flossie rubbed her temples.
Glenn Hutchinson replied indifferently.
He then pulled out the car keys, opened the door, and got out of the car.
Flossie followed him out of the car.
The sky was quite dark, and the entire base was shrouded in darkness. Even electricity had to be conserved in this area. There were no streetlights on the temporary roads; only the light from under the eaves provided illumination, but the visible range was quite low.
It was still raining, but it was much lighter than before, drizzling.
The base’s drainage system was presumably not very good. The ground wasn’t cemented; most of it was grassland. With each step, the ground was muddy, with puddles deep enough to reach the ankle.
Glenn Hutchinson somehow found a flashlight, enough to light the way ahead.
Flossie was really tired, following beside Glenn Hutchinson, avoiding one puddle after another without causing any fuss, and finally following him safely to the room.
Turning on the light in the room, Flossie heard the sound of the door closing, turned her head to look over there, and finally saw Glenn Hutchinson’s scowling face.
"Glenn Hutchinson..." Flossie called him.
"Go take a shower." He interrupted her, his voice cold.
Flossie frowned slightly, not pleased.
She went to the closet to fetch a set of training clothes and went directly to the Bathhouse on the fourth floor.
This building was extremely rudimentary, but in such a place, there was no expectation for better facilities. The building only had two Bathhouses, the third floor for men and the fourth floor for women, all without hot water. If you wanted hot water, you’d have to heat it yourself; otherwise, you could only take a cold shower.
Flossie was already drenched, having worn wet clothes for several hours. Her current physical state was different from before, and she showed no signs of catching a cold. However, after a cold shower, her whole body basically was no longer warm.
