"I won’t cajole."
Flossie Wright bluntly refused.
"Then the gun..." Glenn Hutchinson deliberately lengthened his tone.
It was a clear threat and bribe.
No cajoling, no gun.
Flossie Wright’s complexion immediately darkened.
With a slight twitch of her brow, Flossie hugged her arms across her chest and directly asked, "How do you expect to be cajoled?"
"That’s up to you."
Glenn Hutchinson spoke leisurely, tossing the question back to Flossie.
Flossie’s eyes hardened.
Glenn Hutchinson glanced down slightly, indifferent to her emotions.
Their eyes met, gazes intersecting.
"When are you selecting here?"
Changing tack, Flossie suddenly shifted the topic to the selection process, which had nothing to do with the sniper rifle.
"What’s the date now?" Frowning, Glenn Hutchinson seemed to have forgotten.
"The 21st." Flossie replied indifferently.
"Coincidentally." Taking up the conversation, Glenn nodded, "It’s tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" Flossie furrowed her brow.
That would indeed save time.
"Mhm." Glenn confirmed, then added, "But, it’s just an interview. You don’t have to participate if you pass."
"When were there interviews?" Flossie raised an eyebrow.
"They’ve been ongoing."
Glenn replied leisurely, narrowing his eyes.
Interviews?
From the moment he invited Flossie, the interviews had been ongoing.
They didn’t need brute soldiers who were only good for fighting.
Precision, discipline, loyalty...
All these were required qualities.
He had seen many soldiers, many outstanding ones with excellent skills in various areas, even far beyond the ordinary, yet they weren’t fit for the real Battlefield.
At least, they weren’t fit for the Battlefield they had to face there.
He feared Flossie was like that.
Flossie had shown him through her actions that she could achieve all that a true soldier should.
From his requirements, she had passed.

As for what came after, he needed to delve into Flossie Wright, to understand each of her thoughts clearly, in order to determine whether she qualified to stay and become his comrade.
"Oh?" Flossie was a bit surprised but quickly regained her composure, "What are your interview requirements?"
"Whatever they might be," Glenn skirted the subject, "just by eliminating nine of my men is enough to pass."
Flossie understood his deliberate avoidance and, shrugging her shoulders, did not continue to inquire.
With that, the topic came to a close, and both their attentions drifted somewhat.
Faintly hearing guitar music and singing, Flossie tilted her head slightly, looking in the direction of the sounds.
After a brief reflection, Flossie looked at Glenn and suddenly asked, "Wanna listen to the music?"
Seeing what she had noticed, Glenn thought for a moment and seemed to grasp her intention.
"Give it a try."
Glenn didn’t give a definitive answer.
Flossie gave him a sidelong glance.
Old and cunning.
"Wait a moment." Flossie left the words behind and immediately headed toward the navy man playing the guitar.
Without interrupting forcefully, Flossie waited for him to finish playing one song before she approached the navy man and spoke a few words. She managed to get the guitar without much trouble.
Taking the guitar, Flossie walked straight back to Glenn.
This action attracted some attention from others, who couldn’t help but shift their focus, their eyes following Flossie as she left.
