"Erina, I’ve missed you,"
a deep and gentle voice softly landed on her ear.
Flossie Wright was startled all of a sudden.
Perry Reed?!
Flossie Wright looked down at the pair of hands circling her waist.
The fingers were long and well-defined, the knuckles prominent, but callused from wear.
Very tight.
And it hurt a bit.
"Don’t move," Perry Reed said with a light smirk, leaning in close to her, almost whispering in her ear.
Flossie Wright held back a grimace and frowned, "How did you get here?!"
"I missed you,"
Perry Reed answered swiftly, his words tinged with ambiguity.
After a moment, Flossie Wright simply changed the subject, "How did you find me?"
The jungle was vast; even if Perry Reed knew where they were training for wilderness survival, a large-scale search wasn’t possible since the Military District was monitoring from the skies.
how did he find her?
"Want to know?" Perry Reed’s voice asked in a low tone.
Flossie Wright raised her eyebrows.
"Say something nice." Perry Reed’s tone was laced with amusement.
Flossie Wright’s lips twitched slightly.
Lifting her elbow, she turned her body and swept vigorously towards his chest, but Perry Reed raised an eyebrow and swiftly dodged her strike, not anticipating her other fist was already aimed at his chin!
She had gotten much faster.
As Perry Reed evaded, the smile on his lips grew a bit deeper.
A month apart, and she had indeed made significant progress.
She still wasn’t his match.
Without attacking, Perry Reed went along with her moves, parrying them one after another.
Thus, when Sandy Cruz speared a fish, he stood up and looked towards the riverbank, witnessing such a scene.
Flossie Wright was fighting with someone.
Her moves were fierce and lethal, targeting her opponent’s vitals mercilessly, fiercer than she ever was in training.
The man she was up against skillfully mitigated each strike, not attempting to fight back, seemingly playing the role of a sparring partner.
His eyes flashed briefly.
Sandy Cruz glanced down at the eel skewered on the Dagger, thought for a moment, then acted as though he had seen nothing, and continued to look for his next target.
The fact that the man was being careful with Flossie indicated that he was not her enemy and would not harm her.
Why should he worry?
Sandy Cruz was unusually composed.
Not long after—
Perry Reed caught Flossie Wright’s wrist.
Her movements ceased.
Looking up, Flossie Wright saw her left hand, scarred over, and her gaze narrowed slightly. Subconsciously she tried to withdraw her hand, but it was immobilized.
Grasping that hand, Perry Reed brought it to his view, and seeing the scars, his expression darkened suddenly.
They were still from the injuries sustained on the cliff.
All the wounds had scarred over. Flossie Wright, for the sake of mobility, had unraveled the bandages two days before, and although occasionally some movements would cause the wounds to burst open, it wasn’t too much of a problem for her mobility.
"I’m fine,"
Flossie Wright said coolly, lacking her previous amiability.
Perry Reed furrowed his brow, unable to hide the anger in his expression.
He knew that Flossie Wright had injured her hand, but he hadn’t imagined her injuries would be so severe.
"I have a problem,"
after a pause, Perry Reed said in a low voice, his tone equally cold.
Frowning, Flossie Wright looked up at him and asked coldly, "Did you take action?"
