Flossie Wright laughed softly.
"What are you laughing at?!" Hearing her laughter, Mia Lawson immediately became furiously embarrassed and stared at her with tightly knitted brows.
"Nothing," Flossie said, dimming the light in her eyes and turning away towards the dormitory, casually adding, "Just take care of yourself."
"Flossie Wright!"
Mia Lawson glared at her and called out sternly.
Flossie’s steps faltered slightly.
Frowning, Mia Lawson threatened angrily, "Making a big deal out of this won’t do you any good either!"
An indifferent response.
The next moment—
Unlocking the door, stepping inside, and the "bang" of the door shutting.
Mia Lawson, frustrated and upset, was about to follow her in to argue, but then the door slammed shut, hitting her right on the nose.
Mia Lawson cried out in shock, instinctively covering her nose with her hand.
Her nose felt numb for a moment before a sharp pain surged through it, so painful that Mia’s eyes welled with tears, her facial features nearly contorting.
Moving her hand away, Mia immediately saw the fresh blood on it.
"Flossie Wright!"
She cried out heart-wrenchingly.
Inside the door.
Flossie rubbed her ears, casually strolled around inside, and then lay down on her bed, ready to sleep for half an hour amid Mia’s screams.
Flossie opened her eyes.
Getting up, she folded her blanket and left the room.
There was no sign of Mia outside the door.
After closing the door, Flossie took a few steps forward and saw a few drops of blood in the corridor.
They were probably left by Mia.
Flossie didn’t pay them any mind.
It was just a bumped nose, not a bump on the head.
12:00 was lunchtime, and by this time, people had started to come out of the cafeteria one after another.
Flossie didn’t head to the cafeteria but instead took a detour towards the Base’s main gate.
Her notebook was still with Glenn Hutchinson.
No matter what, she had to get it back.
Glenn had already been waiting for a long time.
From a distance, Flossie could see the straight military green.
The trees on either side of the road had begun to sprout, the greenery vibrant, while sailors in naval uniforms stood guard at both sides of the gate.
The sunlight was weak, casting shallow shadows on the ground.
Glenn stood there, not carrying any luggage, with only a notebook in his hand.
Flossie walked towards him at a steady pace.
Stopping a step away from him, Flossie looked up slightly and asked with a frown, "Have you been waiting long?"
Flossie’s mouth twitched.
He really wasn’t one for pleasantries.
"Take care, I won’t see you out."
She said languidly, extending her hand towards him.
Glenn’s mouth curled into a smile, "Say something else."
"Safe travels."
Flossie glanced at him coldly and said bluntly.
"That sounds nice."
Glenn finally fell silent and handed the notebook over to her.
After taking the notebook, Flossie turned to leave.
Glenn called out to her.
Flossie turned her head, raising an inquisitive look.
With a smile deepening at his lips, Glenn teasingly asked, "Aren’t you going to check it?"
It seemed she understood something.
Gripping the notebook in her hand, Flossie lowered her head to take a careful look for the first time, and then she realized the notebook was a little different.
