Glenn Hutchinson glanced at her and answered honestly.
It’s not like he has an iron body. Having been cut so many times, it’s hard to say he’s lost all sensation.
But once you get used to the pain, it becomes something else entirely.
Isn’t Flossie Wright the same? She’s never once said "ouch."
"What’s the thing between you and Perry Reed?" Flossie asked directly as she set down the teacup, glancing at the time on her watch.
The agreed time was ten o’clock, and now he’s so late that Perry Reed is probably going to flip out.
"There’s nothing going on," Glenn Hutchinson said with a slightly stern expression.
Looking him over curiously, Flossie asked, "Are you together?"
"..." Glenn Hutchinson was instantly caught off guard.
Flossie casually continued, "If not, we can talk about other things."
Looking at Flossie, who was serious, Glenn Hutchinson’s mouth twitched slightly.
Either way, Flossie was bound to find out about such matters even if we kept them hidden.
After a moment of contemplation, he decided to be direct with Flossie.
Perry Reed had stormed into the campsite with his people at two in the morning.
He was here to negotiate terms.
Although the negotiation took a long stalemate, the matters discussed were simple. It was just the haggling afterward that took some time.
Perry Reed promised to supply them with a batch of equipment, but the exchange terms were that DARK’s people were allowed to rest at the campsite.
In this country, there are always various mercenaries carrying out protection missions.
As the leader of DARK, Perry Reed is not one to wander about aimlessly. He won’t miss any money-making missions, especially in a war-torn place like West Hare, where mercenaries receive substantial missions and profits.
A few years ago, before conflicts broke out frequently in West Hare, various mercenary groups were active there.
In recent years, DARK has focused on growth in this area, leading to more activity in West Hare.
Among these missions, the majority involve escorting people or goods.
Perry Reed cited the advantageous geographical location and high safety factor to allow Glenn Hutchinson to occasionally provide convenience, letting certain people and goods stay here for a few days, without needing them to protect the safety of people and goods.
Logically, Perry Reed’s request is very reasonable.
Monthly provisioning of weapons and equipment carries a certain attraction. So, after repeatedly making the proposal, even the initially unwilling Glenn Hutchinson eventually reached an agreement with Perry Reed.
In these times, if there’s a good deal to be had, you take it.
Coincidentally, upon hearing Glenn Hutchinson’s explanation, Flossie Wright surprisingly agreed and couldn’t find any reason to argue.
"So," she paused slightly, looking at Glenn Hutchinson, summarizing, "Aside from Perry Reed bothering you, we have no other losses."
The previously calm Glenn Hutchinson turned ashen at her words.
She knows Perry Reed is here to bother him!
"You worked hard."
Flossie looked at him with sympathetic eyes.
Regarding this matter—
She really can’t do anything about it.
Perry Reed brought such good stuff for free. They all have to consider the bigger picture. Because of Perry Reed and Flossie’s relationship, to reject such good things would be too petty.
So Glenn Hutchinson won’t do that.
Moreover, this matter doesn’t fundamentally impact Flossie. She won’t refuse either.
As for whether it bothers Glenn Hutchinson or not...
Given that so many rivals have been milling around previously, Flossie feeling sympathetic for three seconds is already enough.
