Flossie Wright shrugged her shoulders and thought for a moment, then asked, "What do you have here?"
Belinda Nichols answered seriously.
The thing she had the most of here were military books, all kinds of types, covering sea, land, and air. If it wasn’t for the fact that her bookshelf was too small and she didn’t have many books delivered, she could have opened a small library.
"What else?" Flossie directly excluded the pile of books.
She didn’t know whether Rowdy Brightwill liked to read books, but what she could be sure of was that Rowdy Brightwill, a graduate of the Military Academy, definitely wouldn’t read these books a little.
Using them as a gift was somewhat childish.
Standing to one side and thinking for a bit, Belinda turned around, opened the drawer, and took out everything inside, one by one.
Dagger, military knife, keychain, new earphones.
Flossie had a headache.
She knew that Belinda’s life was dull, but she hadn’t expected it to be this dull.
"Give me ten dollars."
Flossie looked at her lazily.
After a brief pause, without asking too much, Belinda took out her wallet from the bookshelf and gave her a ten-dollar bill.
"Wait for me."
Happy with the money, Flossie smiled contentedly.
Ever since her last visit to the Wright Family, after she gave Perry Reed that bracelet, her bank card had only a few dollars left.
Anyway, she was broke, so scamming a bit of money was something she could accept with a clear conscience.
Walking to her own wardrobe, Flossie opened it, searched inside for a while, and finally took out a duckbill cap, then tossed it over to Belinda.
"I’ll sell it cheap to you, never used," Flossie spread her hands, "Take it to give to someone."
When Flossie was in the cooking class, she bought a lot of trinkets, like sunglasses, duckbill caps, and so on, almost always in batches.
Since there was no chance to use them in the Forces anyway, and Flossie had bought too many, she could change a different item every holiday, and it would take her several years to go through them all. Rather than having them lie around in her wardrobe, it was better to give them to Belinda to give away.
Although, ten dollars was really selling it cheap.
Belinda caught the cap, and the moment her fingers touched it, she could feel the quality of the cap. Remembering the ten dollars she had just given, she frowned but said nothing else.
"Where is he now?"
Flossie didn’t close the cupboard door but continued to look for something and asked Belinda without turning her head.
"Cafeteria."
Knowing who she was asking about, Belinda replied in an even tone.
"Wait for me a second."
Flossie left her with that instruction.
After searching for nearly five minutes, Flossie finally found a bag and a wooden box.
Flossie threw the bag over to Belinda for the cap, then opened the box and checked the jade pendant inside.
She didn’t know much about jade pendants; she just checked to see if it was intact.
The jade pendant was oval-shaped, like a dewdrop lingering on a green leaf in the early morning, with light green lines crisscrossing pale white, giving a cool sensation as it slipped through the hand.
The texture was very good.
Logically, using this jade pendant as a birthday gift for Rowdy Brightwill from Belinda would be more than appropriate. Flossie’s words were casual, and even if it meant Rowdy Brightwill getting teased, he wouldn’t say anything.
However, this jade pendant had been left by the previous Flossie, who, before joining the Forces, had spent all her pocket money and made a great effort to get it.
Originally, she intended to give it to him after joining the Forces if she ever met Rowdy Brightwill.
Unfortunately, she died before meeting Rowdy Brightwill, and the later Flossie hadn’t thought much about it. She didn’t know where she had brought it from; previously, she had gone looking for it with a probing intent, not expecting to truly find it.
