But, just as Flossie Wright said, she needed God.
Perry Reed looked at her for a long time.
Finally, he stood up directly.
Without saying a word, he walked out of the Conference Room.
Watching his departing figure, Flossie Wright furrowed her brows and thought for a moment. Only then did she vaguely understand the discordant feeling in her heart.
Clearly, before she spoke, she thought it was a simple matter.
Because she just wanted to borrow a few months.
Thinking about it, Flossie Wright adjusted her hat and, unwilling to provoke Perry Reed any further, ultimately did not follow to explain.
When she left the Conference Room, there was no one left in the corridor. After considering it, she turned and went downstairs, heading directly outside.
Not yet familiar with this Campsite, as soon as Flossie Wright stepped out of the building, she was unsure of her direction. As a result, she turned around and collided with Sandy Cruz, who was coming out of the building with a lunchbox.
Three months had passed.
Sandy Cruz had heard that Flossie Wright had returned, but he hadn’t seen her for two days.
However, with his personality, as long as Flossie Wright wasn’t dead, everything was fine. Whether he saw her or not didn’t really matter to him.
At this moment—
Upon suddenly seeing Flossie Wright, Sandy Cruz was only slightly surprised for the initial two seconds, then he returned to normal.
He examined Flossie Wright for a moment.
She was thinner, wearing camouflage, appearing even taller—otherwise unchanged and easily recognizable.
"Going to eat?"
Flossie Wright raised an eyebrow, her gaze falling on the lunchbox in his hand.
Sandy Cruz nodded naturally.
After three months, it was as if only three days had passed, with neither of them showing any unusual behavior.
"Let’s go together," Flossie Wright immediately said.
In this kind of place, most of the people were strangers, and with Aaron Doom’s group scattered about, it was basically impossible to see anyone.
Flossie Wright was considered a newcomer; though she could ask for directions, being with Sandy Cruz was at least somewhat more relaxing.
With no objections, Sandy Cruz agreed.
However, Sandy Cruz thought it was normal for Flossie Wright not to know the way since she just arrived—and didn’t mind showing her around. Yet, once they neared the cooking class and there were more people around, he started to feel something was off.
Besides Aaron Doom’s group, few people knew Flossie Wright.
And, not knowing her didn’t mean they hadn’t seen her.
Yesterday, when Glenn Hutchinson carried Flossie Wright inside, a large group of people had witnessed it, and now seeing Flossie Wright appearing here, all these idle folks couldn’t help but stare with their eyes wide open.
Initially, Sandy Cruz pretended not to see, but as they approached the cooking class, he very consciously chose to distance himself from Flossie Wright.
This kind of center-of-attention situation was better left for Flossie Wright; he just wanted to eat quietly.
Flossie Wright was clearly speechless for a moment.
"Flossie Wright!"
"Captain Wright, over here!"
In a surprise, hearing the familiar shouts, Flossie Wright slightly turned her head under the gazes of the passing crowd, following the sound.
She saw Iris Dukes, Devina Millet, and Chloe Bell standing together, trays in hand, ready to get their meals.
This was a small dining hall, not as large as the Base’s, but still taking up half the area. It was fairly clean and tidy; some chose to eat with trays here, while others took their lunchboxes to eat elsewhere.
Flossie Wright looked around and finally chose to line up behind them.
