Two hours later.
Sophie Fitch and her two friends arrived at the restaurant.
They timed their arrival perfectly.
Because, after leaving, they realized their minds weren’t really on shopping, but rather attracted to Flossie Wright’s knife skills.
So, after an hour of shopping, the three unanimously decided to head back right on time.
Maybe they could still catch a few minutes.
Unfortunately, as soon as they entered the kitchen, they saw Flossie Wright tidying up and heading for the door.
Sophie Fitch blinked, looking at her curiously.
Flossie Wright responded casually.
"Oh," Sophie Fitch stared at Flossie Wright, nodding thoughtfully, then said a bit apologetically, "We were just thinking of buying you a train ticket, but we don’t know your ID card number."
"Hmm," Flossie Wright looked down at her, slowly said, "I didn’t bring my ID card."
Sophie Fitch’s eyes widened instantly.
Even the two girls beside her widened their eyes in disbelief at Flossie Wright.
She didn’t bring her ID card?
This, this, this—
Doesn’t seem likely?
Unknown to them, when Flossie and her group descended from the mountain, they had indeed only changed into new clothes, completely clean and carrying nothing.
Moreover, military officer certificates, ID cards, and such had been handed in collectively at the beginning of training.
They would only be returned alongside other items after elimination or training end.
So, from the start, Glenn Hutchinson had ruled out students reaching Arlington City by normal "transportation."
Flossie Wright never considered using conventional means.
"Then, then, then," Sophie Fitch stammered, finally asking, "How are you going to get there?"
"Rent a car," with her hand on Sophie Fitch’s shoulder, Flossie Wright looked at her twice, calmly said, "Goodbye."
Sophie Fitch instinctively replied.
The next moment, Flossie Wright moved her hand away and walked out of the restaurant.
Sophie Fitch turned around, staring blankly at her departing figure.
Two girls stood on either side of Sophie Fitch.
"She just left like that..."
"I wonder if we’ll meet again..."
The two girls spoke up in turn.
Sophie Fitch felt even more downcast.
If only I had asked for her number!
Suddenly, her uncle’s voice came from behind.
Sophie Fitch blinked and turned around.
"Where did you find such a talented person?"
Patting her shoulder, her uncle asked with a smile.
"Huh?" Sophie Fitch blinked in confusion.
"Her," her uncle pointed to the kitchen, "in two hours, she processed all the vegetables needed for the morning."
Sophie Fitch’s eyes grew wider and wider.
Peeking over her uncle, she looked into the kitchen.
She saw the usually busy vegetable preparation area, with only a few chefs standing together, looking dejected and downcast, while beside them was a pile of neatly stacked, processed vegetables, arranged beautifully.
Out of the restaurant.
Flossie Wright walked to the roadside, and almost as she stopped, a taxi pulled up in front of her.
The car window rolled down, and Lucas Cook stuck his head out from inside.
