Franklin Cody answered methodically.
"Give it to me," Flossie Wright extended her hand toward him.
Looking at him, Franklin Cody didn’t dally and handed the packed meal to her.
With a trace of a smile curling the corners of her mouth, Flossie Wright shrugged and headed toward the staircase of the Dormitory building.
Actually, male soldiers could enter the female soldiers’ dormitory as well, since there were no locks on the outside, and given that everyone was a quality-checked young person, no accidents had ever occurred, and there was basically no supervision.
But Franklin Cody was different from Rowdy Brightwill; Rowdy Brightwill was popular and liked among female soldiers, while wherever Franklin Cody went, female soldiers tended to keep their distance, probably feeling awkward about going upstairs themselves.
He didn’t know many female soldiers and wouldn’t ask those he wasn’t familiar with for help, so he probably waited downstairs for quite a while.
Flossie Wright didn’t mind playing the good Samaritan either.
Reaching the second floor, Flossie Wright, familiar with Nancy Phillips’s dormitory, went straight to Room 204, and knocked on the tightly closed door.
"Who is it?" Nancy Phillips’s voice came from inside.
"Flossie Wright."
Standing still at the door, Flossie Wright watched the opening of the door, replying calmly.
Inside, after a brief silence, Nancy Phillips then said, "The door isn’t locked; come in."
Thus, Flossie Wright pushed the door open but didn’t rush in. Instead, she first surveyed the situation in the dormitory.
The distinctly female soldiers’ dormitory was quiet and neat, with neatly arranged items on every table, and no one in sight in the aisle of the dormitory.
Letting her gaze drift slightly, Flossie Wright then saw Nancy Phillips on the upper right bunk.
Her bed was also Mariana Buck’s bed.
Propping herself up on her elbows, Nancy Phillips turned to look over, her eyebrows slightly furrowed, and asked, "What’s the matter?"
"Your dinner." Walking in, Flossie Wright approached her desk and placed the dinner on top of it.
Just as she was about to leave, she heard Nancy Phillips from the upper bunk, sounding quite annoyed, "Who brought it?"
Nancy Phillips knew Flossie Wright; the two had interacted during sniper training. But ever since then, following a fallout with Rowdy Brightwill, Nancy Phillips had hardly ever spoken to Flossie Wright.
Truth be told, she held a certain grudge against Flossie Wright.
And the Flossie Wright she knew was definitely not the type to go out of her way to bring dinner to her just because she hadn’t eaten.
Her relationship with Flossie Wright wasn’t to that extent.
Stepping back, Flossie Wright put her hand in her pocket and looked up indifferently, "Franklin Cody."
"Him?" Nancy Phillips frowned in confusion.
"That’s it, I’m leaving now."
Casually finishing her statement, Flossie Wright turned to walk out the door.
"Wait a second!" Nancy Phillips called out to her.
Walking a couple of steps, Flossie Wright thought for a moment and then paused, turning her head and gazing intently back at her.
"Anything else?" Flossie Wright asked.
Nancy Phillips’s face stiffened, trying hard to suppress her aura, and said to Flossie Wright, "Take that meal back, I won’t accept anything from him."
Franklin Cody taking the initiative to bring her food made Nancy Phillips’s first reaction one of disbelief, but after thinking it over, she decided not to accept the kindness to avoid any unnecessary trouble later on.
Franklin Cody...
She had never even considered it.
"He’s gone," Flossie Wright replied.
"Then you take it," Nancy Phillips’s resistance was clear.
"I don’t need it."
Flossie Wright declined dispassionately.
Since the meal was from Franklin Cody to Nancy Phillips, even if someone were to throw it away, it should be Nancy Phillips doing so. Flossie Wright was merely the messenger; taking the dinner for herself or throwing it away somehow felt morally wrong.
