Yet, it was only after Flossie Wright had disappeared at the end of the street that he slowly turned and walked into the bustling crowd.
After parting ways.
Flossie Wright made a call to Perry Reed.
Twenty minutes later, Flossie Wright saw his black Aventador pull up beside her on the road, staggeringly handsome.
Standing beside it, Flossie Wright didn’t move.
Soon, the car door opened, and Perry Reed, dressed in a dark brown trench coat, stepped out.
Walking up to Flossie Wright.
His face was stormy, his gaze ominous, his presence intimidating, and the oppressive aura was incredibly strong. He was like a devil from hell, exuding evil and danger all over.
"Are you angry?"
In a foul mood herself, Flossie Wright couldn’t help but chuckle upon seeing Perry Reed suppressing his fury.
She looked utterly carefree.
Somehow, Perry Reed found her amusing and, with a devilish grin, he reached out, wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her into his embrace with an ambiguous tone, "Baby, I’ve missed you to death."
Her hand against his chest, she kept a certain distance from him.
Flossie Wright raised her eyebrows, "Sir, how many cigarettes have you smoked?"
Perry didn’t have a penchant for smoking, nor was he addicted, but he would occasionally indulge in a few, usually opting for high-end cigars.
It was rare for him to be suffused with the smell of smoke, like now.
"Want one yourself?"
Lifting her chin with his hand, Perry Reed smiled boldly.
"No need, I’d like to live a few more years."
Pulling away his hand, Flossie Wright pushed aside the hand he had placed on her waist, then turned and opened the rear door of the Aventador.
"Sit in the front."
Before she could get in, Perry Reed suddenly grabbed her wrist.
"I don’t breathe secondhand smoke," Flossie Wright said with furrowed brows.
"I’m driving," Perry Reed enunciated each word.
"You won’t speed, will you?" Flossie Wright countered.
"I won’t speed."
A firm reply.
"Fine," she agreed readily and circled around to sit in the passenger seat, her words casual, "Please, take me to Base."
Perry Reed’s face fell.
This woman was really pushing her boundaries!
"It’s not nine o’clock yet."
Seated in the driver’s position, Perry Reed slammed the door shut, annoyed.
"We’ll be past nine by the time we get there."
Leaning back in the seat, Flossie Wright spoke languidly.
She was tired.
After staying up late for training the night before and only getting about two hours of sleep just before dawn, on top of physically demanding activities during the day.
She hadn’t felt it before, but during the twenty-minute wait just now, a wave of exhaustion had crashed over her, making her feel truly fatigued.
"Before nine, you do as I say."
Settled in his seat, Perry Reed started the car, though his face was still dark.
"If my life is in danger, I reserve the right to breach our verbal agreement," Flossie Wright said with her eyes closed, her posture straight, her tone weary but equally firm.
A fist slammed hard into the seat beside her.
The car seat shook with the impact.
Flossie Wright opened her eyes and turned her head slightly.
The car’s interior lights were off, but with the faint light coming in from outside, Flossie Wright could still see Perry Reed’s grim face and the hidden malice and restlessness in his eyes.
"Erina Taylor, are you trying to kill me?!"
He moved closer, gripping her shoulders tightly, as Perry Reed angrily growled.
Flossie Wright looked at him.
He had never been gentle or moderate when he acted.
Her shoulders ached from the squeezing.
"No," Flossie Wright looked ahead again, bright light leaping into her dark eyes, her voice faint and somewhat hoarse, "I didn’t want you to die."
I didn’t want you to die.
The clear statement fell distinctly on his ears.
The strength in the grip on her shoulders loosened.
Perry Reed stared at her, his lips tense, the anger in his expression gradually fading.
Only now did he notice that there was still a red mark on Flossie Wright’s chin.
It was from his pinch.
Flossie Wright leaned toward the car window.
"Erina Taylor."
The hand that had been on her shoulder fell away, and Perry Reed’s voice was much softer and calmer.
"Did you bring your protective charm?"
After thinking for a moment, Flossie Wright said, "I left it in the dormitory."
"Take it with you." His tone was very firm, not just a reminder but also a demand.
"Mhm, when I’m not training."
Flossie Wright echoed.
She could probably guess why Perry Reed had given her the protective charm.
As he wished, there was nothing wrong with it.

However, the Forces had strict rules, especially during training, where no unnecessary items were allowed.
Hearing her words, although Perry Reed was displeased, he did not argue in the end.
Flossie Wright closed her eyes and fell into a light sleep on the smoothly driving car.
Halfway there, when they were almost at the Base, Flossie Wright specifically directed Perry Reed to stop on a nearby road to buy a pile of barbecue.
Not too much, yet not too little.
Enough for three or four people.
The distance from the town to the Base wasn’t far, and the barbecue Flossie Wright was carrying was still warm.
"I’m off."
Flossie Wright said goodbye, swiftly exiting the car.
Inside the car, Perry Reed watched her retreating figure, walking toward the entrance of the Base.
From beginning to end, she never looked back.
This woman always left without hesitation, no matter who was watching her from behind, she would never turn around.
After some time.
Perry Reed drove off, under the watchful and alert gaze of several Soldiers guarding the entrance, moving swiftly away.
On the other side.
As soon as Flossie Wright entered, she called Rowdy Brightwill.
At nine-thirty, if there was no extra practice, he would probably have just finished training.
Rowdy Brightwill answered the call.
They agreed to meet at the cooking class.
If you’re treating someone to a meal, the cooking class providing a place was naturally the best option.
Unfortunately, as soon as Flossie Wright arrived at the backyard of the cooking class, she glanced casually towards the kitchen and saw a very familiar figure inside.
Bard Walker.
Flossie Wright hesitated for a moment, quickly hiding the late-night snack in her hand.
Quickly, she heard an annoyed voice, "Flossie Wright, what are you doing here?!"
