Flossie Wright lazily scanned the scene, but the moment she looked at the photograph, her gaze froze.
It was an angled shot taken from below.
The sun was setting, and the blood-red dusk had colored the scene, leaving only black and red shades. At first glance, the view was vast, grand, and breathtakingly beautiful.
On the sloping mountaintop, dark figures were visible only as silhouettes, but one could vaguely discern they were upside down.
The whole image looked somewhat eerie with these inverted figures, but beneath this backdrop, it emphasized the majestic beauty of the landscape, making everything seem to be blending into the expansive sky and earth.
What caught the eye most was a standing side profile, hands crossed on the chest, standing in the sunset. Standing there with no movement, yet firmly grounded like rooted to the earth, it was incredibly conspicuous.
At a single glance, Flossie recognized him.
Glenn Hutchinson.
"A pretty good shot."

After examining it for a while, Flossie gave her sincere praise.
"Isn’t he handsome?" Becca Reyes withdrew her hand and squinted, "Willie Ash sent it to me, allegedly, Captain Hutchinson has a particularly brutal training method. When he trained us, it was like a child’s play."
Flossie nodded without uttering another word.
Feeling a bit disappointed given her deliberate efforts, Becca Reyes sighed dejectedly upon confirming that Flossie showed no interest.
Ever since Glenn Hutchinson had left, Becca had tried to probe Flossie’s feelings about him, subtly and explicitly, but Flossie had always shown no sign, revealing no trace of her thoughts about Glenn.
Just then, the waiter arrived, belatedly carrying their food. He set their dishes on the table with a stern face.
When he finally placed the Claypot Tofu, his movement was a bit rough. With a "thump," the soup swirled in the pot and splashed out, some even splattered onto the waiter’s hands.
He yanked his hand away swiftly, cursing under his breath as he grimaced in pain.
Becca momentarily looked surprised and baffled by his poor customer service attitude.
"What are you looking at? You just wipe it off."
Unexpectedly, this only fuelled the waiter’s anger, he shot her a fierce glare and hastily grabbed a serviette from the table, wiping the spilled soup off the table.
"Hey, dude."
Accompanied by a scoff, a pair of chopsticks stretched from the air and abruptly pressed down on the back of the waiter’s hand.
With a fierce force, his hand was suddenly pinned on the table, separated by only a thin serviette, soaking with the scattered soup that quickly seeped into his palm.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
The waiter’s face changed abruptly; he growled at Becca in a low voice.
"Dude," Becca called out gently, smiling at him, "either you apologize or we create a scene, your choice."
For a moment, the waiter was furious with rage.
Leaning back against her chair, Flossie sneaked a glance at the raging waiter and reckoned Becca could handle the situation so she did not bother to intervene.
But just as she turned her gaze away, something caught her peripheral vision--a figure moving outside the window.
She halted, her gaze turned sharp, and she quickly identified the figure who had just alighted from a car.
She squinted, the man paused, looked over, and their eyes met through the window glass.
A crushing pressure bore down on her.
From afar, she could see the sharp eyes beneath his wide-brimmed hat, so heavy they seemed to hold back the darkness.
Threatening, stern, ruthless.
All too familiar to her.
A flash of surprise flashed in her eyes, Flossie’s hand clenched into a fist unconsciously. She quickly avoided his intense, lingering gaze.
