This is utterly absurd!
Flossie Wright frowned. The simple word, like a chill wafting from an ice cellar, echoed in Merry Otiz’s ears, causing them to sting with cold.
"No, not cold."
She shook her head decisively. Even though she was on the verge of losing consciousness from the freezing cold, Merry still wore a smile on her face and lied. The discomfort was indescribable.
Observing her shivering helplessly, Flossie unflinchingly shut the door. She then leaned against the door frame, looking at Merry indifferently, waiting for her to get to the point.
"Flossie, have you really broken up with that guy from the Hutchinson Family?"
Rubbing her hands together to keep warm, Merry hesitantly asked. She scrutinized Flossie under the dim light, fearing she might miss any minor changes in her expression.
Anyone who lost several sources of income would be in panic. Nothing could be done concerning Benjamin Murphy. The Shopping Centre flatly refused to give an inch. Despite trying every means, Benjamin failed to meet the legendary Young Master Chu, let alone the elusive Glenn Hutchinson. Although Benjamin verbally claimed he didn’t blame them, his attitude towards Helen Wright had considerably cooled.

After all, who could resist the lure of money? It was quite generous of Benjamin not to end his relationship with Helen Wright immediately because of this issue.
Feeling guilty, Merry couldn’t bear the thought of her actions creating a rift between her daughter and her future son-in-law. After hesitating for hours, she ultimately chose to humbly ask Flossie for help. Even if she could only help a little, this was her way of making amends.
Besides, she couldn’t believe that Flossie had truly broken up with Glenn Hutchinson. Even if they were just toying with each other, Glenn had been quite serious when he talked about getting a marriage license. Such a sweet couple couldn’t possibly have broken up over such a trivial matter. She had never heard of such a ridiculous breakup reason in her life.
"What do you think?"
She raised her eyebrows slightly, and Flossie threw the question back at her.
She wanted to keep everyone guessing, making things seem suspicious no matter how they looked at it. That would make it all the more fun.
Merry was stumped by the question thrown at her. Her face stiffened slightly, but her smile became even softer. "Have you been in contact with Glenn Hutchinson recently? Could you give me his contact information, or...his address?"
She never intended to have Flossie help her out in a big way. Given their relationship, as long as Flossie didn’t fuel the fire while being with Glenn Hutchinson, everything would be fine. Now, Merry just hoped to find a way to establish a connection with Glenn. If she could contact him, there would be a chance to mend things, no matter what.
As it stands now, they can’t even track down anyone, let alone come up with a solution, no matter how desperate they are.
"You think, I would give it to you?"
Looking at her, somewhat amused, Flossie Wright asked back, unexpectedly.
Flossie considered herself quite thick-skinned, but when she met someone who didn’t even care about maintaining their dignity, she couldn’t help but feel defeated.
If one entered a negotiation with no bargaining chips, or even a chance at a victory, yet humbly approached the situation in a completely different attitude, she would never be capable of doing so.
Even though Merry had some methods up her sleeve and wasn’t entirely a fool, she dealt with women from wealthy families just like her, getting involved in trivial matters that didn’t even qualify as cunning plots. Beyond that, she probably spent most of her time trying to please her man.
Flossie genuinely couldn’t catch onto these petty tricks, thus she failed to understand Merry’s train of thought.
