The next day, six o’clock sharp.
The sky outside was faintly lit as Flossie Wright woke up on time.
Opening her eyes, it took her half a minute to fully wake up before she turned over, got out of bed, found new clothes in the wardrobe, and changed.
By around six twenty, Flossie had finished washing up and walked out of her room.
No sooner had she closed the door than she heard sobbing sounds.
Glancing up slightly, she scanned the area and her gaze settled on the door beside her.
It was Helen Wright’s room.
Listening closely, she could hear that it was Helen sobbing softly.
As for the reason, Flossie understood a bit.
Servants always had a bit of gossip; last night when she returned, she caught several servants discussing how Helen had her engagement called off by the Murphy Family.
It was said to be a forceful separation by the Murphy side.
Helen held a special status within the Wright Family; although her mother Merry Otiz, after years of hardship, finally became the rightful mistress of the Wright Family, rumors about Helen being an illegitimate daughter persisted, leaving her status and position more awkward than her brother Grady Wright’s.
Fortunately, Merry was able to protect her position, so the Murphy Family agreed to their relationship.
But, from the time Merry was imprisoned, the Murphy Family began to reconsider the marriage.
Not to mention now, with Merry dead, Helen was completely without support, and unlike her brother Grady, who was an heir, the Murphy Family naturally started to back out of the engagement.
During this time, they added fuel to the fire by calling off the marriage arrangement.
Regan Wright was too busy now, probably not even having time to deal with it.
Thinking this, Flossie didn’t want to meddle in others’ affairs and turned to walk towards the staircase.
Accompanied by a faint noise, the door next to her was suddenly opened.
The voice calling out was choked with sobs, and it was filled with grievance and sadness.
Flossie paused her steps and looked over.
Dressed in the same white dress as the day before, but completely lacking the serenity and well-behaved appearance of yesterday, all that was left was a face of haggardness and the despair lingering in her eyes.
Blinking her eyes, she looked at Flossie blankly, and immediately, tears streamed down her face.
Her small tear-stained face was like a pear blossom bathed in rain.
"What’s the matter?"
Flossie lifted her brows lightly, without a shred of compassion in her heart, and asked nonchalantly.
It was pointless.
Nothing more than a means of release.
And using such a method to vent was the most futile act.
Watching her, seeing that she indeed had no trace of compassion, Helen bit her lip hard and after taking a deep breath, nodded honestly, "Yes."
Flossie asked indifferently.
"Can I, come in for a moment?" Helen asked with a trembling voice, cautious and careful.
After pondering, Flossie surveyed Helen with a sharp gaze and, seeing her grow increasingly timid, didn’t make it difficult for her; instead, she lifted her slim legs and walked into Helen’s room.
Helen watched her, stunned.
It wasn’t until she had passed by Helen and entered the room that Helen belatedly came to her senses.
Helen quickly followed her in.
Flossie closed the door behind them with a swift motion.
A single, detached word.
Yet, inexplicably, Helen felt a sense of relief.
Twisting her fingers together below, Helen’s brows furrowed again and again. Just when Flossie was getting impatient, Helen finally prepared herself mentally and said to Flossie with a floating voice, "Sis, I’m pregnant."
Flossies’s brow twitched.
