Flossie Wright silently watched as Joshua Bailey finished explaining the next phase of training.
During this time, Joshua felt a chilling gust of wind coming from an angle, colder than the midwinter breeze, as if it could tear through his flesh and bones at any moment, making him extremely uncomfortable.
Joshua barely endured, finally mustering the courage to push through his speech.
However, as soon as he uttered "dismissed," not only did he not get any free time to explain things to Flossie, he was instead quickly surrounded by a swarm of recruits clamoring for his help in developing their training plans.
Actually, the recruits’ reaction was understandable.
There are a total of five instructors.
Jude Marsh is rather aloof, always wearing a cold, indifferent face, while Dallion Collins employs harsh methods, and even his occasional smiles are laced with malice. Not to mention, he often classifies the trainees as rookies, which severely undermines the rookies’ confidence.
Glenn Hutchinson rarely shows up, but his presence is even more intimidating than Jude Marsh’s. Unless someone has ulterior motives, no one dares to approach him.
Joshua Bailey is different.
Though Joshua is strict, among the instructors, he is indeed the easiest to get along with, stern yet approachable, making him the first person nearly everyone thinks of.
As for Flossie Wright—
Of course, there are also groups that choose her, and they are mostly male soldiers.
However, Flossie’s mind is sharper than Joshua’s. Before he could say "dismissed," she had already slipped away. By the time the eager eyes were fixed on her, ready to rush toward her, she had already left with Glenn Hutchinson, who was waiting nearby.
Facing a cold, intimidating figure like Glenn Hutchinson, no one wanted to approach lightly, so even if they really wanted Flossie’s help, they could only watch helplessly.
"As an instructor, don’t I have the right to know?"
Flossie spoke dispassionately, subtly moving her wrist, inadvertently emitting a threatening aura.
"It was a spur-of-the-moment decision; I didn’t have time to inform you," Glenn Hutchinson said, capturing her hand, speaking unhurriedly, with an undertone of gentleness.
A resolute man, yet captured by tenderness.
"Oh?" Flossie neither raised an eyebrow nor withdrew her hand.
"Hmm, so that we can prepare for the wedding." Glenn Hutchinson said nonchalantly.
Flossie paused, suddenly realizing how spontaneous this ’spur-of-the-moment’ really was.
It seems Glenn Hutchinson had a small meeting early in the morning, temporarily altering the subsequent training plans.
Even so, Flossie was somewhat surprised by how obediently people like Joshua Bailey listened to Glenn Hutchinson.
They were entirely too indulgent towards Glenn Hutchinson.
"However, this plan was previously suggested." Glenn Hutchinson slowly added.
Flossie glanced at him sideways, noticing the faint smile lingering at the corner of his lips.
So she didn’t argue with him, and even nodded in agreement, "Autonomous training can reveal a lot about their nature."
Their selection had a free-rein aspect as well, with most of the time being self-managed training. But this time, they hadn’t even set a quota, proving that Glenn Hutchinson was gradually improving the training methods.
Even though Glenn Hutchinson seldom shows his face, it doesn’t mean he isn’t paying attention to this new batch of recruits.
"Quite a few will seek you out," Glenn Hutchinson glanced back meaningfully, then looked knowingly at Flossie, "Learn to refuse."
Flossie was speechless for a moment, too lazy to respond to his words.
Flossie Wright and Glenn Hutchinson’s registration for marriage had long been communicated with both families, all relayed by Glenn Hutchinson, as Flossie’s phone had been off, leaving no means for anyone to reach her.
So everything was conveyed by Glenn Hutchinson.
The entire morning, Glenn Hutchinson was only tasked with informing her about the wedding arrangements, with the time just passing by like that.
Flossie listened with disinterest, relying on her strong memory to note down the key points.
Marriage is a tedious affair; if it was just her and Glenn Hutchinson managing between the two families, they might do it casually. But with so many relatives on both sides, everything had to be considered, making Flossie relieved that the wedding was coordinated by both families, sparing her and Glenn Hutchinson the headache.
Otherwise, it would be more troublesome than organizing a military exercise.
After lunch, Flossie waved her hand to step outside of Glenn Hutchinson’s "nagging" reach, then shoved her hands into her pockets and planned to stroll through the veteran soldiers’ training grounds, but she was intercepted by a group of new recruits on the way.
