Austin Shepherd wasn’t worried about Flossie Wright’s grades.
In the written test, her scores were always among the best.
He could be sure that Flossie hadn’t cheated.
So, out in the field, she should have had more of an advantage than others.
To be honest, he was afraid for Flossie.
That previous night, also after a week of training, Flossie had timed her arrival perfectly and even the Brigadier was startled by her.
Logically speaking, wilderness survival shouldn’t be anything too troublesome.
Yet, for Flossie, he just couldn’t stop worrying.
She was too prone to stirring things up.
Drake Easton’s expression was quite grave, but before he could speak, he heard someone shouting.
"You keep watch, let me know when she arrives."
After telling Austin Shepherd, Drake Easton didn’t stick around; he walked straight towards the person.
Slightly lifting his gaze, Austin Shepherd watched Drake Easton’s retreating figure and heaved a silent sigh in his heart.
Nearby, soldiers walked by, their olive green uniforms blending into the surroundings, seemingly indistinct from one another.
Austin Shepherd focused his attention.
And continued to wait.
Not far off—
Calvin Ramos stepped out of the tent.
He arrived at the edge of the campsite, his gaze falling on the jungle obscured by trees, his expression very solemn.
He had arrived the night before.
Once at the destination, he was treated to good food and drink, had access to hot showers, and found new clothes neatly arranged for them.
But Calvin Ramos couldn’t settle down.
Since the morning, he had been paying attention to the arriving trainees.
Knowing that Becca Reyes wouldn’t arrive so quickly, he still couldn’t help but check each time he heard someone had arrived.
Ever since that day Becca Reyes ran off, his heart had been hanging by a thread.
An uncontrollable concern.
Whether Becca Reyes could stay was not his main worry, selfishly speaking, he even hoped Becca wouldn’t stay because training here was too hard.
It exceeded her capacity to endure.
So, what he was concerned about was only Becca Reyes’s safety.
Don’t get hurt.
Don’t have an accident.
Come back safely.
No matter if she’s brought back or she comes back on her own.
Fate doesn’t always follow one’s wishes.
Calvin Ramos, in his anxious wait, suddenly caught a glimpse of two figures, his expression instantly tensing.
From the thick grove, two silhouettes became gradually visible to onlookers.
Several soldiers instantly ran over.
Stuart Weston walked slowly, each step seeming to exhaust all his strength, Becca Reyes on his back, motionless and unresponsive.
His pupils contracted.
Calvin Ramos’s heart felt as if it were being clenched.
Immediately, he strode over.
"Quick, the stretcher!"
"Medical Staff!"
Before he could get close, he heard others shouting, two arms marked with the Medical Staff badge rushed by his side, and those carrying stretchers hurried over quickly as well.
Seeing people coming, Stuart Weston heard buzzing in his ears, but felt a sense of relief from the bottom of his heart.
Looking up, before he could even speak to them, he collapsed.
And Becca Reyes, who was on his back, rolled off as well.
Others hurried to assist them.
"This female soldier is unconscious," a soldier assisting Becca Reyes checked her condition and said to the approaching Medical Staff, "She’s breathing, but she has a fever."
Without hesitation, the Medical Staff quickly said, "Let’s get her up first, take her to the tent."
