"It’s almost noon, the sniper can start looking for an ambush spot. The rest of you can also start scoping out the terrain,"
With a wave of his hand, the platoon leader didn’t feel like continuing the conversation and, having finished speaking, turned around and walked towards the area where they had been ambushed before.
His soldiers naturally followed him.
As for Stan Torres, after glaring at Flossie Wright with disdain, he touched his nose and also followed the platoon leader away.
Flossie Wright lifted her gaze and stood on the sandy beach close to the sea, looking towards the center of the island.
"Flossie Wright."
She had only taken a couple of glances when she heard someone calling out. Lowering her eyes, she saw the female soldier who had spoken earlier walking towards her with an indifferent expression.
"What is it?"
Flossie Wright asked casually, raising an eyebrow.
In fact, there was no need to guess; the other party was clearly here to lecture her.
The female soldier strode up to her and stood firm, eyeing her with some severity, "They are our allies, you can’t do that."
Flossie let out a low murmur of curiosity, the corner of her mouth hooking in a smile as if she hadn’t really taken the other’s words to heart.
"Flossie Wright, I enlisted before you and have the seniority to manage you," the female soldier stepped forward again, her gaze stern, and she warned word by word, "I must remind you, if something like this happens again, it will definitely reach the Captain’s ears."
With one hand in her pocket, Flossie hadn’t taken her seriously, but after looking at her for a moment and seeing her earnest demeanor, she changed her mind.
"Do you think I did something wrong?" Flossie asked indifferently.
The female soldier answered without hesitation.
"Why," Flossie chuckled, "just because I pointed a knife at him?"
"Yes," the female soldier nodded firmly, then paused and added, "You are comrades, it shouldn’t be like this."
Narrowing her eyes, Flossie took a step closer to her, her gaze growing colder, "What you’re referring to as ’shouldn’t,’ is it that I shouldn’t have pointed a knife at him, or that he shouldn’t have tried to steal my army knife?"
The female soldier asked in surprise.
The other soldiers hadn’t noticed Flossie and Stan Torres interacting at first; it wasn’t until the noise of their scuffle grew louder that their attention began to shift.
Thus, apart from the two involved, no one actually knew what had transpired initially.
Flossie looked at her calmly; although she didn’t answer, her expression clearly acknowledged the question.
After a moment’s thought, the female soldier suddenly asked, "He didn’t succeed in stealing it, right?"
With a smile, Flossie replied nonchalantly, "I didn’t succeed in killing him either, did I?"
The female soldier frowned tightly.
Taking another step towards her, Flossie stood face to face with a very small gap between them.
Cocking her head, Flossie leaned close to her ear and spoke in a low voice, "I’m not interested in learning your military ways. To me, the most fundamental thing between comrades is respect."
The interaction between people cannot do without basic respect.
The same goes for comrades.
Or rather, it’s precisely because they are comrades that they should respect each other even more.
Although Flossie’s attitude towards others was sometimes unpleasant, without a reason, she wouldn’t deliberately trample on others, nor would she stir up trouble for no reason or find fault with others.
Taken aback, the female soldier stood stiffly, but found no words to say.
Having said her piece, Flossie stepped back and looked up slightly at the other four frogmen watching her. She shrugged her shoulders and then walked towards the interior of the island in another direction.
