With just a simple glance, she saw the face of a female ghost covered in fresh blood. Flossie Wright twitched the corners of her mouth and climbed straight into bed.
Each of them had a blanket, but she slept on the outer side.
At such a time, sleep was naturally elusive, so Flossie lay on her side with her eyes open, her gaze unconsciously drifting to Mariana Buck’s computer. Relying on her excellent vision, she watched the scenes and subtitles, guessing the plot.
Jessie Grain and Mariana Buck seemed tireless, watching one movie after another.
In between, they simply washed a couple of apples to fill their stomachs.
It wasn’t until ten o’clock in the evening that the two of them decided to call it quits, turned off the computer, and got ready to go to sleep.
Surprisingly, they whispered a few words and ended up squeezing together to sleep.
The lights in the dormitory had already been turned off, and as the computer screen dimmed even further, the only light left in the dormitory was the dim glow cast by the streetlights outside.
Flossie Wright felt a bit sleepy, closed her eyes, and soon fell asleep.
That night was even calmer than anticipated.
For several days in a row, the rain was unrelenting.
Although all the Frogmen had returned, the usual laughter and chatter were scarce within the base.
Essentially, everyone opted to make a trip to the hospital to meet with the Psychological Group, but Flossie’s dormitory was an exception. The next day, Mariana Buck and Belinda Nichols were back to normal, training as usual, with no signs of abnormalities.
After training for two days, Sunday arrived.
The male soldiers trained as usual, but for the female soldiers, Ella Pemberton seemed to have a relative who died in that shipwreck incident, so she hurried home to help with funeral arrangements. Most of the female soldiers were still impacted by that event, with more or less psychological obstacles, and thus, most were not in the mood for training. Ella Pemberton did not schedule them for any intensive training.
However, the residents of dormitory 307 continued their training as per usual.
On the 29th, in the afternoon.
Flossie Wright went back to the dormitory to rest earlier due to special circumstances.
Her physical condition had been somewhat weak during this period, and having been soaked in the rain all day, she felt cold and even had a cold and fever.
After getting back, she took some medicine, which made her feel a bit better.
After drinking some hot water, she had intended to sleep for a while, but just as she got up, her phone started ringing.
It was her phone.
Scrambling through the drawer for the ringing phone, Flossie Wright casually glanced at the number and her expression involuntarily froze.
Glenn Hutchinson.
The four characters were visible clearly.
After a pause, Flossie Wright winced in pain, stared at the phone screen for a moment, and then answered the call.
"What’s up?"
Sitting back down on the chair, Flossie Wright asked indifferently with a cool and distant tone.
"Come downstairs, I’ll wait for you."
Accompanied by the sound of raindrops, a deep and resonant voice came from Hutchinson on the other end of the phone.
Her frame tensed slightly.
Flossie Wright furrowed her brows and involuntarily glanced at the tightly shut dormitory door.
Has he arrived?
The thought flashed through her mind.
After thinking for a bit, Flossie Wright picked up the cup of hot water on the desk and downed it in one gulp.
She then stood up, headed towards the door.
Opening the door, Flossie Wright stepped into the corridor. She walked on the waterlogged corridor and looked down the stairs.
The sky was overcast; the heavy rain poured down, the sound thundering in her ears. There was no one else coming or going downstairs. Flossie Wright caught sight of the man standing in the rain, holding a black umbrella, at a glance.
Looking from above, she could only see the umbrella and the military green trousers below.
