They hadn’t eaten anything since dinner last night, and now eighteen hours had passed, leaving them hungry to the point where their stomachs clung to their backs.
Nancy Phillips responded, tilting her head slightly to look at the people discussing strategy nearby.
With a casual word of thanks, Flossie Wright naturally accepted the piece of chocolate.
After all, she needed to replenish her energy.
Sitting down cross-legged, Flossie placed the sniper rifle on her thigh, tucked away the folding knife, and leisurely began eating the chocolate.
"Got any more?"
As soon as she finished, Flossie heard approaching footsteps and, without even lifting her head, asked bluntly.
Nancy Phillips’s pace halted slightly, showing a hint of surprise before she shrugged her shoulders.
She pulled another piece of chocolate from her pocket and tossed it to her.
Flossie caught it as if it were a given.
With her head lowered, Nancy placed a hand in her pocket and observed Flossie casually sitting on the grassland.
Her clothes were only lightly dusted, with no visible signs of disarray.
She sat leisurely with her legs crossed, her slender fingers breaking the chocolate and bringing it to her mouth.
On her face, painted with camouflage, only a little skin showed through; Flossie’s skin was very white compared to the others, so she had to cover most of her face.
Strangely, Flossie like this, perhaps because her face was obscured, didn’t seem so annoying.
She stared straight ahead, her dark eyes sparkling with a concentrated light as she seemed to be deep in thought or simply daydreaming.
"How’s Jessie Grain doing?"
After watching her for a while, Nancy Phillips dropped her hostility and sat down beside Flossie.
"Asking me?"
Flossie shifted her gaze from the distance, turned her head in genuine puzzlement toward Nancy.
Frowning, Nancy scanned the surroundings and then raised her eyebrows at Flossie, retorting, "If not you, who else would I ask?"
Flossie’s frown deepened as she looked at Nancy for a moment before spreading her hands and replying, "She’s not dead."
Nancy’s brows twitched slightly.
True to form, there wasn’t much to talk about with Flossie!
After answering, Flossie shifted her attention back to the distant sky.
She wasn’t exactly daydreaming; rather, with the weather being so hot, she needed to divert her attention to feel less of the heat.
As for Nancy, she really had no interest in dealing with her.
It was hot!
This muggy heat wasn’t much better than their sun-protective training.
If they didn’t calm down, their irritable moods could likely affect the upcoming actions.
Nancy, as if determined to pick a bone with her, moved closer, stretched out her legs, and asked again, "How did she get injured?"
"Want to know?"
After a pause, Flossie raised her eyebrows slightly and looked askance at her.

Nancy returned the gaze with a frown.
Suddenly scrutinized by Flossie, and fixed by those dark eyes, Nancy suddenly had an ominous premonition.
"Never mind then."
A warning bell sounded in her mind, and Nancy shifted her gaze away.
With a decisive tone, Flossie narrowed her eyes.
Turning her head, Nancy looked at Flossie with suspicion.
"Fan me." Such an unabashed request, yet Flossie made it with utter composure.
Nancy’s eyes were filled with astonishment.
