"Don’t worry, he didn’t say anything. It’s just that your usual behavior has been quite bold, and it’s gotten people talking." Stuart seemed to know what was on her mind, but the smile on his face didn’t change even as he attempted to coax her with his explanation.
Becca squinted her eyes, brimming with resistance. "Do you need something?"

No matter how much she liked him, it was her business, which at most had something to do with Calvin. But this guy in front of her, whom she only vaguely recognized...
Was it any of his business?
As for Becca’s hostility, Stuart seemed to have expected it. He fiddled with a seashell in his hand, tossing it into the air. "Don’t you want to know if he likes anyone?" He asked with a sly smile.
Becca paused slightly.
"Of course, I was just making a comment. I haven’t heard of him having a love interest." Stuart’s smile deepened, his countenance revealing a cunning nature, as if he enjoyed betraying his comrade. "I heard the cooking class’s treatment is nice, are you interested in exchanging some information with me?"
At this point, not only Becca but even Flossie who was just eavesdropping figured out his intentions.
Wasn’t he just trying to exchange tips about Calvin for benefits in the cooking class?
"Not interested."
After a brief consideration, Becca decisively rejected his offer, apparently leaving no room for negotiation.
She wouldn’t stoop that low. Some people might think it’s okay to chase after him by bribing those around Calvin, but she has her own code of conduct. If she should act, she’ll never hesitate or waver. And she would never touch what was off-limits.
"Are you sure?" Stuart seemed a bit surprised and reflexively asked.
"Sure," Becca’s confident and radiant face didn’t hold back. "You may leave now."
"Don’t you want to reconsider?" Getting such a decisive response, Stuart seemed reluctant to give up. He shook his head and leaned towards Becca, an cunning glint in his eye, "I can always put in a good word for you or, well, a bad..."
Before Stuart could finish his threatening sentence, a voice suddenly cut him off; following the sea breeze, a chilling feeling spiked through his spine.
Stuart turned his head and saw Flossie who was sitting nearby. He looked back in puzzlement, then moved a step away, and said, "What...?"
But before he could finish his question, a hand had already grabbed his collar.
Flossie’s delicate face was suddenly close to him, her eyes lightly smiling with a sense of laziness. "I don’t like your attitude, can I punch you?"
Such a direct question was unexpectedly vague to Stuart.
Did she say...
She didn’t like his attitude, so she wanted to punch him?
After hesitating for two seconds, Stuart’s mind began to clear. But before he could shake off Flossie’s grip, an unexpected kick swept away his ankles. Flossie’s deliberate grip on his collar pulled him back just as he was about to fall backward, and her knee brutally struck his abdomen. The force felt like his organs were all jumbled together, forcing Stuart to let out a grunt.
Then, Flossie let go of her hold on him.
But Stuart, being trained, managed to hover in mid-air just as he was about to fall, scrambling to find balance in the sand with his left foot, and his right foot shot towards Flossie’s knee.
