"Next, Glenn Hutchinson’s gaze landed on her face, slightly appraising, as he spoke in a leisurely manner, "Not bad."
Flossie Wright furrowed her brows, "Can you leave then?"
"No, I cannot." Glenn Hutchinson looked at this exceedingly intelligent female soldier, concealing the surprise he felt in his heart. He paused for a moment before extending his hand towards Flossie, "Dog tag."
The distance between the two was not that far. Glenn Hutchinson’s extended hand happened to be in front of Flossie. His palm, damp from the seawater, was somewhat moist, but his fingers were slender and straight. Although the palm of his hand was calloused due to handling guns for years, it was still especially good-looking, carrying maturity and discipline, fitting perfectly with the characteristics of those hardened in the battlefield.
Flossie had never intended to hide the fact that she had taken a dog tag. A person like Glenn Hutchinson, even if he didn’t notice at the time, could use various clues afterwards to ferret out the "thief". Her intention in taking Glenn Hutchinson’s dog tag was merely to obtain his personal details. Now that she had completely memorized that information, the dog tag was of no use to her.
However, it wouldn’t be easy for Glenn Hutchinson to take that dog tag from her.
Just as Flossie was debating what to do, her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a voice from afar.
Confused, Flossie looked in the direction of the voice and saw a soldier clad in dark green camouflage swimming towards them with a large rucksack. Despite the weight, his speed was astonishingly quick. In the blink of an eye, he was nearly there.
"Captain, you’re here."
The soldier who swam over was thin and dark-skinned. He didn’t seem to have much muscle and his looks were not particularly striking. When he smiled, his white teeth shone brightly. He was quite pleasing to look at.
Glenn Hutchinson glanced at him sideways but didn’t say anything.
The soldier looked somewhat awkwardly at Flossie. He had no idea how his Captain, who had jumped down with them, was now fraternizing with a female soldier. He smiled at Flossie first, then turned his head to Glenn and said, "Captain, Bodi Rogers and I thought that swimming back would be boring, so we decided to make a competition out of it. We’d like you to be the witness."
"What’s the punishment for the loser?" Glenn Hutchinson asked, raising an eyebrow, seemingly unsurprised by their antics.
"The loser treats everyone in the team to better food tonight and does the winner’s laundry for a month," replied the soldier, looking expectantly at Glenn.
Flossie, floating nearby, rolled her eyes. Clearly this soldier hadn’t been with Glenn for long if he thought he could involve him in matters like this.
"You think swimming back is boring?" Glenn moved closer, placing his hand on the soldier’s shoulder. After receiving a hesitant nod, he suggested meaningfully, "How about we make it more exciting? Underwater combat. The winner gets to leave half an hour earlier."
"What?" The soldier’s eyes widened in surprise, his shiny black eyes full of astonishment.
"By the way, the loser also washes my clothes."
Before the soldier could react, Glenn casually added another line. Then he swam over to Flossie, unexpectedly grabbing her arm.
Glenn Hutchinson stared at her, his tone leaving no room for argument, "Now, come with me."
Flossie tried to pull away, but she was no match for Glenn’s strength. Before she could resist, she was being dragged away.
The soldier left behind in a daze watched as his captain forcefully took the female soldier away. It took him quite a while to react. Looking at his captain’s retreating figure, he felt a pang of bitterness, realizing just how insidious his captain, who was known to be as devilish as the legends suggested, could be...
