Flossie Wright endured patiently as Daisy Deacon pulled her outside.
Along the way, they passed a few familiar mercenaries, receiving a few bewildered glances. Flossie pretended not to notice.
"Is there something you want?"
Finally released, Flossie kept a distance of about a step from Daisy, then lazily glanced at her.
Being dragged around by someone she "just met," Flossie remained neither annoyed nor angry, managing to stay calm and collected.
However, Daisy, standing in front of her, furrowed her brows tightly, looking at her with a rather anxious expression. After a moment, her tone carried sparks of fire, "Girl, you really don’t recognize me?"
Flossie was momentarily stunned.
Perry Reed told her?!
The fleeting change in her expression revealed surprise and anger, but to Daisy, it further confirmed Flossie’s identity.
Flossie turned away seemingly unintentionally, but behind her, a hand had already extended, with five fingers tightly gripping her shoulder.
"Want to fight?"
Daisy stepped forward, pressing closely behind her, the corners of her eyes and brows stained with a smile, yet beneath the deepest smile lay only a burning anger.
"Can’t win." Flossie responded helplessly.
"Nonsense!" Daisy glared at her irritably.
"Really can’t win." Flossie turned around, facing Daisy, with an expression of sincerity.
After a moment, Daisy suddenly raised an eyebrow, "So?"
"Let me win." Flossie said it as if it was only natural.
Daisy was momentarily speechless.
After a while, the hidden anger in her brows gradually dissipated, and in the faint smile, there was somehow a touch of sorrow.
"Fine, I’ll let you win." Daisy opened her arms and hugged her shoulders tightly, her clear voice tinged with a choke, "Good girl, I’ll always let you win."
Flossie stood there, feeling increasingly helpless inside, yet she couldn’t push the person in front of her away.
This was good, she never thought there would be a day to recognize this person.
She always felt that as long as they were both living well, there was actually no need to meet. Of course, if they could meet, perhaps it would be good, because she could see the other person alive.
But, she never thought there would be a day when Daisy would know she was her, and then, without any grudges.
So, Flossie hugged her back, and they embraced tightly.
They weren’t comrades, so they didn’t cling to each other as if life depended on it. Not long after, they mutually released each other.
"How did you know?"
Raising an eyebrow, Flossie asked curiously.
The only people who knew she was Erina Taylor were two: Glenn Hutchinson, who had nothing to do with Daisy and wouldn’t actively tell her anything, and the other was Perry Reed, whom Flossie had repeatedly requested not to inform Daisy. She believed Perry wouldn’t be so idle.
Carefully scrutinizing her, Daisy’s gaze swept over her face inch by inch. After a moment, she finally opened her eyes helplessly, "Girl, I’m not an idiot."
"Not?" Flossie asked with deeper meaning.
"..." Daisy’s face stiffened for a moment. After a while, she spoke threateningly, "That embarrassing thing, I think you should just forget it."
"Alright." Flossie touched her nose, nodding very readily.
"Ever since Perry Reed kept running to Eastlandia, I noticed you. Later... Didn’t you find Basil? He told me it was you who issued the commission. Erina Taylor is connected with the people from Eastlandia, how could I not know? I started suspecting then, plus how Perry Reed is so devoted to you." At this point, Daisy suddenly thought of something, her brows furrowing slightly, "The man you like, it’s not him, is it?"
