"Hmm." Flossie Wright looked at him and calmly said a few words, "He’s dead."

Raising her eyes, Rowdy Brightwill’s face was still handsome, but there was a touch more silence.
After a long while, Rowdy Brightwill spoke up in a slightly hoarse voice, "I’m here to help you."
Although it seemed inappropriate to say it now, Rowdy Brightwill was somewhat worried. Because what Flossie was dragging was a body, regardless of identity, it was indeed a lifeless corpse.
Rowdy Brightwill still remembered how he felt when he first encountered a corpse. The horrific sight led to nightmares over several nights, and he ended up having mandatory psychological counseling along with his peers.
It took time to heal those memories.
So, he could hardly imagine Flossie dealing with such an occurrence.
Flossie did not refuse his offer.
Rowdy Brightwill reported the situation to Janice Wood via his wireless earpiece, including the fact that they hadn’t been able to save James Wood.
After Rowdy finished speaking, Janice fell into silence. Even when Rowdy tentatively tried to communicate with her again, she remained wordless.
The mood of everyone was unsurprisingly heavy. On the way back, both Rowdy and Flossie were silent. The atmosphere between them was frighteningly quiet.
Due to the waves pushing them far off, their return journey took a considerable amount of time. Flossie and Rowdy swam for almost an hour before they even caught sight of the shore.
Despite two continuous hours of downpour, the rain hadn’t let up. It was like a mourning for all the innocent lives lost, mirroring the sorrowful mood of the bereaved.
Unquestionably, when Flossie and Rowdy brought James Wood’s body back, they were met with deafening silence, and the heartrending cries of Auntie James.
By then, the fourth rescue team had been dispatched, but fewer than ten were brought ashore, four of whom were deceased, including James Wood, who was brought back by Flossie and Rowdy.
Parents who saw the lifeless bodies of their children, like Auntie James, were overwhelmed with grief. Crying seemed to be the natural reaction for all women at such a time. They all wept out loud, expressing their guilt, their curses. Some men shed silent tears, others comforted their wives, and yet others could barely stifle their sobbing.
Those students and parents who were rescued had already left the unpleasant beach with their children in tow, on their way to the hospital in ambulances.
This beach was left with nothing more than solemnity and sorrow. The kind of pain that seemingly tore people’s hearts apart was constantly lingering in the air, worming its way into everyone’s hearts.
All the soldiers were silenced.
Besides rescuing people, they had no other option. They didn’t even know how to start to offer words of comfort.
"Where’s Janice?"
Flossie looked around, not seeing Janice anywhere.
Normally, she and Winsley Scott should have arrived earlier than them.
Triggered by Flossie’s reminder, Rowdy at last drew his attention away from Auntie James. His gaze swept the crowd, eventually stopping at the shore. As his pupils constrict, he said solemnly, "She’s back!".
She’s back.
But Winsley Scott wasn’t with her.
A feeling of unease arose in Rowdy’s heart.
Before they could walk over, Auntie James, who was still crying, abruptly left her son’s body. Like an arrow leaving a bow, she rushed to Janice, grabbed her by the collar, shaking her with force.
She roared angrily, "Why aren’t you the one dead?!"
