without her and Devina Millet’s consent.
Without any intention of staying, Flossie Wright and Cassie Ferguson had already prepared to leave, and Bonnie Reyes followed them without much talk.
It was Devina Millet who stayed behind to console the female soldier who had given up, and under the latter’s urging, she finally hastened her pace to leave.
The group of four moved on as the battle raged around them.
Cassie Ferguson and Flossie Wright walked at the front, and although there was no communication between them, it didn’t affect their pace.

Bonnie Reyes and Devina Millet followed behind; due to the cold reception Devina Millet had given Bonnie Reyes upon their meeting, the atmosphere between them was somewhat strange.
But it wasn’t as tense as it was for the two leading.
Of course, catching up with the pace of those at the front required most of their effort.
There was simply no energy left to argue.
"Hey, how come you’re with Cassie Ferguson?"
After walking for three hours, Devina Millet gritted her teeth, looking for a topic to distract herself.
Exhaustion was secondary; their regular training was often more strenuous than this.
That much, they could endure.
But, with several days of marching, Devina Millet’s feet were full of blisters, and now, after walking for a while, the pain became unbearable.
It hurt so much she could hardly stand it.
"You asking me?"
Bonnie Reyes, too exhausted to go on, paused to ask Devina Millet in response.
Devina Millet looked around, caught a glimpse of the two advancing far ahead, and then raised an eyebrow at Bonnie Reyes, "If not you, who else would I ask?"
"My name is Bonnie Reyes."
Bonnie Reyes frowned, emphasizing her point.
Clearly, she had some resentment in her heart regarding Devina Millet’s rudeness.
Devina Millet simply turned her head, not bothering to waste words with her.
However, Bonnie Reyes seemed unaware of this reaction; after a pause, she began to talk to Devina Millet.
"Last night, I got lost and accidentally stumbled upon an ambush site. Then Cassie Ferguson, who happened to pass by, saved me, and so I started moving with her."
As Bonnie Reyes recalled and explained, her eyes showed unstoppable admiration and respect.
When Cassie Ferguson saved her last night, she was simply too cool.
"That’s all?" Devina Millet lifted an eyebrow.
Bonnie Reyes nodded seriously.
Devina Millet snorted disdainfully.
Just being saved, and she’s all head over heels for somebody, not even realizing if she might get sold out!
Compared to the isolated and haughty Cassie Ferguson, Devina Millet favored the indifferent and aloof Flossie Wright.
At the very least, Flossie Wright showed warmth in many minor matters.
Additionally, just in terms of popularity alone, one could see the difference between Flossie Wright and Cassie Ferguson.
Flossie Wright, though distant, had friends and often acted with her friends’ interests in mind.
Cassie Ferguson was different.
In the twenty odd days since her arrival, she hadn’t been seen getting close to anyone, her coldness pushing people miles away, leaving no room for gentleness in her dealings with others.
Judging whether it was her lack of understanding of human relationships or it was simply her nature to be that cold.
Really quite annoying.
"Hey, it seems like you’re biased against Cassie Ferguson?" Bonnie Reyes noticed the issue and couldn’t help defending Cassie Ferguson, "She’s actually a good person, really. As for Flossie Wright, I think she’s too arrogant."
Devina Millet didn’t bother to respond.
Someone bewitched by Cassie Ferguson wouldn’t objectively evaluate others.
Although—
Devina Millet’s judgement also showed some favoritism towards Flossie Wright.
