Approaching, Jessie Grain called out.
Flossie Wright walked behind her, stopping beside Jessie Grain, her calm gaze fell on Ella Pemberton.
Unperturbed, composed, and leisurely.
Nothing like someone who had spent three days in the jungle.
Giving Flossie Wright an extra glance, Ella Pemberton’s lips curved into a shallow smile, she said to them, "Hungry? Have something to eat first."
As soon as she finished speaking, an assistant had already handed over the roast Steamed Buns.
"Thank you." Jessie Grain took the Steamed Buns and politely gave thanks, then looked at Ella Pemberton and asked, "Captain, how is Nancy’s condition?"
"No life-threatening danger, don’t worry." Ella Pemberton comforted them, "You’ll have half a day off tomorrow morning, you can go see her then."
Jessie Grain nodded obediently.
Without bringing up Nancy Phillips again, Ella Pemberton gave them the rest of the Steamed Buns to roast themselves.
The Steamed Buns were brought over in the afternoon at her request, fearing that Flossie Wright and Nancy Phillips might be starving when they got back and wanting to get something ready for them to fill their stomachs on time.
After all, cooking class’s Steamed Buns were still tastier than compressed biscuits.
Unexpectedly, the two of them returned so late that Ella Pemberton had to roast these cold Steamed Buns over fire for them to eat.
Flossie Wright, eating the roast Steamed Buns, then looked at the cold ones skewered on bamboo sticks, and her brows slightly wrinkled, she thrust them directly into the center of the flames.
Jessie Grain, Nancy Phillips, and that assistant were all staring at her, dumbfounded.
So, it could be roasted like this too?!
After a thought, Jessie Grain reluctantly reached out her hand, "Let me roast them for you."
Narrowing her eyes, Flossie Wright nonchalantly accepted and handed over the bamboo skewer.
Jessie Grain smiled wryly.
She really didn’t know that there were things Flossie Wright wasn’t good at, that she would give up so easily.
Dutifully roasting the Steamed Buns, Jessie Grain acted like she was serving the second master at home, respectfully delivering each one as soon as it was ready, and Flossie Wright naturally accepted them.
Anyway, it was just a small matter.
Ella Pemberton watched with a restrained smile.
Having finished eating, their jeep also arrived, taking them all to the Dormitory in one go.

After returning to the Dormitory, Flossie Wright and Jessie Grain took some time for a bath before lying down on the comfortable bed and falling asleep.
The next day, six o’clock.
Flossie Wright woke up a bit late, and by the time she got up, she found that Jessie Grain had already vanished.
Probably went for training.
Not in a hurry to train, Flossie Wright got dressed, finished washing up, took two books from Belinda Nichols, and turned on the desk lamp, but didn’t rush to read. Instead, she took the fully charged phone over.
She had promised Perry Reed she would make a call once a month.
Just as if it were completing a mission.
After turning on the phone and putting on the earphones, Flossie Wright dialed Perry Reed’s number.
"Erina Taylor." The call connected quickly.
"Busy?" Flossie Wright asked directly.
"Not busy."
"Alright," Flossie Wright raised her eyebrows, opened a book, and began slowly, "You start a topic."
Such an irresponsible, nonchalant attitude.
Perry Reed fell silent for a moment, and surprisingly, he wasn’t angry with her but rather accepted it very calmly.
Firstly, having Flossie Wright make a call when she wasn’t asking for anything was already pretty rare.
Secondly, between the two of them, there were no shortages of topics to discuss that they would need to find one.
He was in a good mood and inevitably indulged Flossie Wright.
With no wiretapping on the phone, Flossie Wright made the call very confidently, flipping through military books while discussing the situation in Africa with Perry Reed, without any delay.
Unknowingly, forty-some minutes passed.
"I’m going to eat." Flossie Wright was ready to end the call.
Getting a response, Flossie Wright hung up.
She pulled off the earphones, set down the book, stood up, and got ready to go to the mess hall for breakfast.
Just then—
Knock, knock, knock.
The door was knocked on.
"Flossie, it’s me."
Outside, Rowdy Brightwill’s voice came through.
Without hesitation, Flossie Wright picked up the hat from the table, started putting it on herself, and walked to the door to slide it open.
Catching only a sliver of the door, Flossie Wright lifted her eyes and saw Rowdy Brightwill standing in the backlight at the door.
"What’s up?"
She asked indifferently as she walked out the door and casually locked it behind her.
Turning to look at her, Rowdy Brightwill; half his body was basking in the rising sun’s glow, his face wore a bright smile but tinged with a hint of nervousness. He asked her, "Going for breakfast?"
Flossie Wright nodded.
But, fixing her gaze on Rowdy Brightwill, she didn’t hurry to leave.
"Out with it, what is it?"
Not beating around the bush, Flossie Wright raised her eyebrows, getting right to the point.
His face momentarily stiffened, Rowdy Brightwill somewhat awkwardly lowered his gaze, his smile deepened a bit.
Speaking slowly, Flossie Wright raised her three middle fingers.
As her voice fell, she bent her ring finger down.
Rowdy Brightwill stared at her, taken aback.
—Can’t be serious, right?!
With her voice resounding once more, Flossie Wright’s middle finger also began to bend down slowly.
"Okay, I’ll tell!"
Before she could continue, Rowdy Brightwill started speaking, pleadingly.
With her hand retracted, Flossie Wright tilted her head slightly, signaling him to tell her what he wanted to say.
"I heard that Nancy had an incident during the assessment, uh, something happened?"
"That..." Rowdy Brightwill’s speech paused again.
Understandingly lifting her eyes, Flossie Wright turned around and started walking leisurely towards the stairs.
"I’ll go by nine."
Her cool voice, in the morning breeze, effortlessly reached his ears.
Behind her, Rowdy Brightwill raised his eyebrows, inevitably sighing in relief.
Talking to smart people always saves effort.
