"It’s really you."
The familiar yet false voice, with an extremely unpleasant tone, fell into her ears.
Flossie Wright scrutinized the person before her.
If truly reminiscing, there was still a hint of familiarity.
Had she simply inherited Flossie’s memories, she might have long forgotten some unnecessary things, but the person before her was indeed someone she had met two years ago.
Two years ago, she and Rowdy Brightwill returned once, having just called off their engagement, and then bumped into this well-informed "old classmate," who forcefully dragged them to a so-called class reunion.
Ultimately, it was all for a moment of glory and to vent, which was really irritating.
"It’s me."
With a slight raise of her brows, Flossie responded coolly.
At the same time, her gaze moved to the man standing beside Kate Rivera.
It wasn’t that Flossie was intent on sizing him up, but Kate Rivera forcibly pulled the man over, intimately holding his arm, as if deliberately showing off something.
The man was dressed in a suit and looked wealthy, carrying several shopping bags in his hands.
Meeting Flossie’s gaze, the man nodded slightly, but his eyes seemed to subtly glance over the insignia on her shoulder.
Kate Rivera knew nothing about the Forces, military ranks, or insignia, naturally perceiving Flossie as just an ordinary soldier, unlikely to achieve anything significant.
But the man was different; these things were common knowledge to them, somewhat understood.
A bar and two stars, not a high rank, but considering Flossie’s young age, it was somewhat incongruous.

"Let me introduce you," Kate Rivera’s chin naturally lifted slightly, pretending to be casual in tone, but unable to conceal the boastful look in her eyes, "this is my husband, Gerry Harrison."
Who Gerry Harrison was, Flossie had no recollection.
But she remembered the Harrison Family, whose background was quite decent; coupled with Kate Rivera’s showy actions, Flossie could roughly guess that Gerry Harrison had some family wealth.
"Congratulations."
Flossie curled her lips, her expression calm and collected, showing none of the jealousy Kate Rivera expected to see.
Kate Rivera secretly gritted her teeth, secretly admiring Flossie’s performance even more.
The Flossie in her memory had always been someone who couldn’t stand others doing well. Two years ago, Rowdy Brightwill had broken off their engagement, and since then, neither the Brightwill Family nor the Wright Family had mentioned it, their relationship gradually fading. It was heard that the Wright Family had latched onto the Hutchinson Family, but amidst all the speculations, these two families hadn’t officially addressed the matter.
Probably not much truth to it.
Thus, Flossie’s current indifferent demeanor seemed like a thorn in Kate Rivera’s heart, causing persistent discomfort.
In school, Flossie had oppressed her for a long time, and now, finally having a chance to staunchly contest, if not fulfilled, she probably wouldn’t have a good year.
Amidst Kate Rivera’s anxiety, the man beside her had already reached out to Flossie.
Flossie’s lips curled into a faint smile, reaching out to shake his hand briefly but soon let go.
This scene made Kate Rivera even more displeased, causing her to glare at her man.
However, Gerry Harrison was utterly perplexed.
What’s going on?
"Flossie, how are things with you now?" Kate Rivera asked Flossie with a forced smile.
"Just the same." Flossie’s expression was indifferent.
Not seeing any boast from Flossie’s face, Kate Rivera estimated her to be not doing well, causing the pent-up frustration in her chest to dissipate somewhat. After a pause, she asked with a smile, "You’ve been enlisted for over two years, don’t you plan on leaving?"
"Hm." Flossie replied nonchalantly.
Upon hearing this dialogue, Gerry Harrison felt puzzled.
Initially, he thought she was a graduate of the Military Academy; such a young Military Officer was understandable, but according to Kate Rivera, she enlisted just two years ago?
Two years to reach the rank of lieutenant...
Gerry Harrison suppressed his doubts, considering this unlikely, erasing the previous conjecture altogether.
"You graduated two years ago, staying in the Forces may not be good in the long run; you should think about your future," Kate Rivera shifted the topic to what she wanted, her smile softening a bit, "I heard your sister already has a child?"
