Glenn Hutchinson knitted his brows looking at her, the corners of his lips curving into a slight smidge, "This would be easier, wouldn’t it?"
Without his cold aura, he was more heart-stirringly gentle and handsome to the extent that one could not tear their gaze away. Just with a smile, a glance, a gesture, he was mesmerizing, captivating the heart and soul.
However, it was Flossie who was witness to this scene.
As for Flossie, while Glenn Hutchinson did possess a certain charisma, it was not enough for her to abandon her principles for this handsome face.
"Making it easier for me, or easier for you?"
Moving one step closer, Flossie’s voice was calm and steady. She fixedly stared into his eyes, without any intention of backing down.
If she did not guess wrong, at the coffee house today when she encountered Glenn Hutchinson, he was also on a date too. Thinking about the call he received from Grandfather Hutchinson last time, Glenn Hutchinson probably encountered a similar problem as she did.
If they were together, it would indeed be beneficial for both parties.
Raising his eyebrows slightly, Glenn Hutchinson conceded to Flossie’s speculation with a sense of assurance in his composed tone.
With an even more intent probing look in her eyes, Flossie casually, as though not putting in any effort, reached out and hooked his neck. Their eyes met as if two swords were clashing. She chuckled lightly, "Just this?"
"What do you think?"
Glenn Hutchinson tossed the question back at her, maintaining his nonchalant demeanor, without revealing any flaws even under Flossie’s scrutinizing gaze.
"We can pretend," Flossie spoke at a leisurely pace. The hand that was freed lowered to Glenn Hutchinson’s collar. She nonchalantly straightened out his collar, her tone carrying an intangible threat, "Just don’t confuse reality with the act."
With half-closed eyes, Glenn Hutchinson gently questioned, like a light breeze.
"Nothing else. I’m very happy to be friends with you," Flossie jerked his collar slightly. When she raised her head, she released him, retreated a few steps and looked at him calmly. Her dark eyes, tranquil as a clear pond, "But just friends."
Flossie wasn’t exactly sure what Glenn Hutchinson meant. This man always had a way of clouding his intentions. However, she was somewhat suspicious of his actions, as they seemed to imply something most of the time.
While she doesn’t mind making more friends, the idea of someone scheming against her, especially in a manner that she can’t foresee, bothers her.
His gaze lingered on her, a ripple of emotion flickering in the depths before returning to composure. Glenn Hutchinson lifted his brow, casually nodding, "Alright."
Dismissing the doubt from her face, Flossie shrugged, "I don’t want to continue this now, do as you wish."
Having said that, Flossie didn’t seem to have any intention of continuing the conversation with Glenn Hutchinson. She turned her back on him, gave him a wave, and took a leisurely stroll around the room. Not noticing any concealed miniature cameras, she casually took a seat at the desk and returned to the game she was playing the day before on her laptop.
Glenn Hutchinson didn’t leave either. After Flossie’s preliminary inspection, he was not distracted into checking the room for surveillance devices. Instead, he picked up a stool to sit beside Flossie. Amidst the noisy game sound effects, he calmly unfolded that slip of paper, took a snapshot, and forwarded it to a professional.
"The book with the note has been taken."
Flossie’s movements didn’t skip a beat as she was clicking on the mouse. Though she was supposedly engrossed in the laptop screen, Flossie seemed to have Glenn Hutchinson’s every move in her peripheral vision, casually adding on from the side.
"Did you copy this note?"
Glenn Hutchinson asked as he raised the note in his hand. However, he felt like he already knew that the answer.
Flossie replied lightly without turning her head back.
If she admitted to knowing a plan that was meant to be covert, she would most likely become a target, and possibly even face a threat to her life. At the moment, she’s not sure about the whole progression of things. On the premise of finding leads, she distances herself from the situation. The other party got what they wanted without any harm, and didn’t suffer any losses. Even if they suspect her, there’s no concrete evidence. At most, several people would follow her like today, and then look for loopholes in her traces.
Naturally, Flossie would not leave them with any loopholes.
"Analyze your viewpoint."
Upon acquiring the characters written on the note, Glenn Hutchinson was not in a hurry to find the answer from the note, instead he wanted to hear Flossie’s point of view.
On their way back in the car, Flossie had already described the general situation to him using the simplest words. Yet, she was just narrating and did not reveal her thoughts. As a participant in this matter, it was easier for Flossie to analyze the situation, and she was the only one who understood the state of this family.
The note couldn’t have been placed in Flossie’s room by someone from outside the family.
"The book was not mine."
It was a very profound philosophy book, abstract and hard to understand, it wasn’t something that Flossie used to like. Of course, she wouldn’t want to flip through it now.

"There is a traitor in the house, likely using my room as a contact point," Flossie paused for a moment before continuing, "Merry Otiz seems suspicious."
While she kept up her in-game actions, Flossie laid out her analysis methodically. While multitasking, her thoughts were clear and organized, suggesting her ability to manage her divided attention.
According to her analysis, the note was likely left by mistake.
No one would choose to leave an important message in a room where someone resides. But this room was vacant before, so it had been used as a contact point before.
However, this seemed unlikely.
From the night Flossie returned, she never left this room, meaning the book could only have been brought in prior to that. But here’s the thing, everyone in the house was informed that she would be returning, so that night, when Flossie was out, the mastermind could find a way to remove the book, yet they made no moves. Therefore, the book remained safely in Flossie’s room.
Until the following morning, Flossie felt like she was being watched, and at the same time, Merry Otiz found a reason to enter her room. From her conversation with Merry, it was apparent that Merry had surveyed the room, seeming to confirm whether the book was in the room.
Therefore, Flossie began to suspect Merry Otiz.
According to her speculation, that book should have been placed in another room, but was delivered to the wrong location for some reason. And Merry Otiz knew about this, so she came over to verify, and someone slipped into her room that night.
Flossie finished her conjecture and set down the game in her hands. She directly walked toward the door.
Caught off guard, she abruptly pulled the door open——
