Under the night sky, Glenn Hutchinson spoke slowly.
However, just as he turned around, Flossie Wright suddenly raised her hand and grabbed his shoulder.
"Be safe." After a slight hesitation, Flossie reminded him.
Pausing for a moment, Glenn’s expression softened somewhat.
He responded lightly.
The next moment, he left.
He walked past, the gentle breeze swaying, accompanied by the soft rustle of leaves.
Flossie focused her gaze, watching the direction he departed, her brows slightly knitted, until his figure completely disappeared into the darkness.
After a long while, Flossie retracted her gaze.
No matter how much she trusted Glenn Hutchinson’s capabilities, Flossie still felt some unease.
Often, when things are out of control, one anticipates countless bad outcomes.
Flossie timely suppressed her wild thoughts.
The sky was pitch-black.
The starless and moonless sky, before the complete darkness descended, had its faint light obscured by the dense foliage, and the visible range noticeably shrank.
In the silent wait, Flossie listened to the wind, the birds, the insects, and unknowingly, some sweat appeared in her palms.
Probably six or seven minutes passed.
Footsteps finally approached from behind.
The soft sound of branches breaking, intentionally kept light, but there was a faint sense of familiarity.
Flossie’s heart was at ease.
Soon, the footsteps behind kept approaching until they were beside her.
Flossie turned her head and immediately saw a tall and robust figure by her side.
Glenn Hutchinson’s outline was slightly blurry, concealed in the darkness, but in this night, Flossie felt an unexpected clarity.
"What is it?"
Raising an eyebrow, Flossie asked calmly.
"Equipment."
Looking at her, Glenn simply replied.
He had already put on the Night Vision Goggles and could see everything in the jungle at night.
He handed another Night Vision Goggle to Flossie.
Flossie took it and skillfully put it on.
Once both of their visions returned to normal, Glenn handed all the other items to Flossie one by one.
There were plenty of bullets, two combat knives with different functions, along with some small gadgets.
Flossie accepted them all.
She didn’t ask Glenn where these things came from, because Flossie had already guessed pretty much.
Estimated that Glenn had set the route in advance and had people on the intersecting routes prepare everything beforehand.
Everything was hidden, waiting to be found when he arrived.
These were minor matters.
The important thing was, they had the sharp tools for night missions.
"Continue?"
After packing all the things away, Flossie slung the sniper rifle over her shoulder, then raised an eyebrow at Glenn.
Even though Glenn couldn’t clearly see her expression, he heard the eagerness in her tone.
"Continue."
Glenn said with a light laugh.
They did not rush into immediate action; instead, they took out the electronic map, then based on professional knowledge and their experiences, they analyzed the surrounding terrain to find the most suitable spot for establishing a base.
Finally, they reached a consensus.
Southwest, a place with varying altitudes.
"Let’s go."
After putting away the map, Glenn issued a brief command.
Then, he proceeded to move in front of Flossie, paving the way for her.
