At least, lovers finally become family.
"You," Becca Reyes cautiously spoke, after a moment, she asked, "how are you?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, both of them knew what Becca Reyes was referring to.
"I’m fine." Flossie Wright replied softly.
"Take good care of your injury. When there’s a chance, we’ll come to see you." Becca Reyes bit her lip, and towards the end, her voice was choked with emotion.
She learned about Belinda Nichols’ departure from Austin Shepherd.
On the day of her funeral, those who could take leave did so. Later, not having seen Flossie Wright, Becca Reyes went around asking before finding out the specifics.
She couldn’t bear to part with Belinda Nichols either.
But, the one who couldn’t bear it the most was probably Flossie Wright, right?
So, they tacitly agreed not to mention it to Flossie Wright, fearing that someone as smart as her would catch on, they hadn’t even gone looking for her.
Becca Reyes had hesitated for a long time before making this call to Flossie Wright.
In fact, she couldn’t utter a single comforting word, not even having the courage to mention Belinda Nichols.
Unable to bear it meant unable to bear it, mentioning it just made her want to cry, and there was nothing she could do.
"Okay." Flossie Wright agreed with a calm tone, "I’ll invite you all then."

Becca Reyes responded, but tears were streaming down.
Taking a deep breath, Becca Reyes wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes, pretending to be relaxed, "Then, I’ll hang up first."
Flossie Wright spoke, and after hanging up the phone, tossed it aside.
In the afternoon after the IV drip was finished, Glenn Hutchinson finally reappeared.
He was covered in snow, bringing with him a chill.
"I want to see her."
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Flossie Wright looked up at Glenn Hutchinson, each word coated with a chill.
Glenn Hutchinson nodded without any hesitation.
After lying down for half a month, barely moving, Flossie Wright’s body was stiff, and although she had tried her best to recover in the morning, the effect wasn’t immediate.
Glenn Hutchinson walked over and lifted her up by the waist.
Flossie Wright didn’t resist, allowing him to hold her without saying a word, not even noticing the frequent glances from others in the hospital.
Belinda Nichols was buried in her hometown, which was some distance away. Since flight tickets weren’t available at the time, Glenn Hutchinson drove Flossie Wright there, driving from two in the afternoon until nine at night, a whole seven hours without rest.
"We’re here."
Glenn Hutchinson stopped the car outside the cemetery.
"I’ll go by myself." Flossie Wright turned her head slightly when opening the car door, saying to Glenn Hutchinson.
Glenn Hutchinson, who was about to accompany her, frowned and pondered for a moment, but in the end, he indulgently nodded, "Okay, come back early."
He handed Flossie Wright a trench coat and a flashlight, explaining the specific location to her.
This city had snowed too, not too cold, but the ground was covered with a layer of silver white.
After taking the trench coat and flashlight and putting them on under Glenn Hutchinson’s watchful eyes, Flossie Wright got out of the car.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, the cold wind slowly swept in, her legs, having not been exercised much, felt a bit stiff. Flossie Wright stood up straight and, following the direction Glenn Hutchinson had mentioned, walked step by step over.
Her steps were still somewhat stiff, but her posture was upright, standing like a pine, steady as a clock, a true soldier.
Glenn Hutchinson sat in the car but rolled down the windows, letting the cold wind blow in, the car’s headlights illuminating Flossie Wright’s path forward, but eventually, Flossie Wright’s figure disappeared from view.
